What is the piece of tape, sorta like a sticker that is stuck on the gyro. It's like a thick sticker covering the gyro. What is that? Could I peel it off??

the bar behind the servos for attaching the canopy is the same kind of rod as the flybar and stock skids, you can use any rod to replace it. one way of balancing the heli is to move the battery forward to balance the heli, or like me just tape something to the top or bottom of the 4in1, quarters work

HBFP have the stability but for indoor flight. I don't think its powerful enough for outdoor flight of more than 4 stories high flying even in a gentle breeze day unless you get some upgrades and if you do that you might as well get a your first CP bird.
I'm looking at the Eagle 50... I'm not going to upgrade just yet tho, wanna at least learn the nuances of side on and nose in flying ya know...

Just ordered heatsinks from bphobby for my HBFP, next is a lipo battery and its charger and the wall plug.
Then , its time for a rotor head upgrage to strengthen the head.
Dont feel like moving the tail fin anywhere for some reason, I think its because I like the way it looks there and also dont think that it takes a big hit off the tail rotors air flow... Just my opnion

Careful with upgrading parts. Think of some parts as sacrificial. It's better to break a $2.00 rotor head than some other $5- $7 part. The force that would break the rotor head has to be transferred somewhere. I'm new to helis, so I don't know exactly how this applies, but it's just physics. I'd just say to read up on the forums and see if upgrading the rotor head makes sense.

There aren't that many upgrade mechanical parts for a HBFP. Most upgrades are electrical in nature ( better main and tail motors, LiPo's and chargers, etc.). Learn to fly the FP before you go off buying something three times the price only to find that paying all that money wasn't going to help you fly any better.

Yes, it's common to put a lipo under the 4-in-1.
However, I wonder about this. On mine at least, the antenna goes right underneath the 4-in-1. So when I put my lipo there, I'm literally putting it right on the antenna. It seems this could cause problems, but I see people do it all the time.

yeah, you can run LiPo's. Not sure how long they last, prob just as long as a Ni-MH as long as you treat the battery right. Can't suggest a charger yet, I'm still using stock ESky chargers.

RE: just got a hbfp and have tons of questions
Chargers are a whole discussion and science unto themselves. They range from the cheap Esky $8 to $100 or more!! He's in the same quandary that I am. Are my batteries shot? Do I go to Lipos? If I go to Lipo's, is a cheap charger/balancer good enough? From another discussion forum, doing nothing but switching to Lipo's makes the heli lighter and requires you to change to another pinion gear on the motor and new blades (and the blades are yet another whole discussion).
