Default Servo install... to gromet or not to gromet

Hi, I have been putting together a T-Rex 500 and the instructions don't show
gromets or eyelets sed for servo installation. also another heli I bought used had none.
It had never been flown, and I added them, but now this T-Rex has me wondering.
I have been a airplane guy for sometime. So my question is
Do Heli's use Gromets and eyelets with sero installtion?
It seems like a silly question to me.
Thanks, Scott

I don't use either the grommets or the brass eyelets on any of my electric helicopters. The servos on my 450, 500 & 600 are all "hard" mounted directly to the frame without the grommets or eyelets. You only need to use those parts if you are building a nitro helicopter due to the vibrations from the engine.

Hi and Thank You for your fast response.
I will remove them on the T-Rex 500, but leave them on the Nitro Heli's.
Thanks again, Scott

well, while you don't need them they don't hurt either. they are just more of a pain to install so most electric guys don't.

They are for vibration isolation. I don't use them in electrics either.

Maybe it was just a coincidence, but after flying my 50 size nitro with just rubber grommets on the servos for awhile, I decided that maybe I should install the brass eyelets too. Soon after, the heli started to behave really strangely. It would start heading off on it's own like I was getting radio glitching. Eventually, I crashed it. When I was repairing it, I removed the eyelets and also put in a new 2.4 ghz receiver. I haven't had any weirdness since. I haven't tested the original receiver to see if it's working properly, but I wonder if the eyelets rubbing against the frame created some sort of interference.

If you're mounting with servo nut plates you don't use the eyelets. I do that on all my nitros.
