I have it mostly together but were should I put the radio receiver

also another question I have is should the wires from the 2 servos in the front be running by the main shaft and belt?

i mounted the reciever under (on the bottom) of the boom clamp

you`ll need to use small ziptie`s on those servo wire`s.
if you look, on the side there are two hole`s by the lightening bolt, this is where you`ll ziptie the wire`s.

I'm using the Exceed RC 2.4Ghz radio system as sold by xheli because I couldn't afford the spektrum dx6i radio

that`s cool, i have the dx6i because it came with my blade400.
that radio you have is a programable computer radio right? you can change the throttle and pitch curve`s?

did you get the servo`s figured out yet?
do you know how to setup the servo arm`s and swashplate and pitch?
if you need it, i can help via yahoo or msn messenger with a web cam, just let me know.

if you have setup other heli`s then you`ll be fine.
if it`s you`r first, then take you`r time, watch sokal11`s video`s on youtube, and get it setup right.
if you dont it`ll cost you alot of money.

i forgot to mention.
if you have the plastic tail case on this heli, you`ll want to drill a small hole in the case and boom for a small set screw.
if you dont the case will turn/rotate in flight.
i also drilled a small hole in the rear landing strut`s and skid pipe`s for a set screw. this will keep the pipe`s from turnning.

well i finally got my laptop back, so i figured i`d get alittle better video of the Le.
align 450m motor, e-flite 40a pro esc, hg202hb`s on cyclic, & Jr g370/ds3500g combo on the tail. kdbb tail blade`s and align 325 woodies for main`s.

i have been waiting over a week for my nonbroke tail blade grip`s to show up from xheli, so i threw on a set off my blade400.
i have`nt flown in a week, so i`m alittle rusty.

well i have know idea about the radio you have, so this is alittle gineric.
batt port> bind port open
thro> esc
aile> right servo looking from the tail (bottom of the two stacked servo`s)
elev> servo behind the main mast (servo that`s by itself)
rudd> gyro
gear> gyro gain wire
aux1> left servo looking from the tail (top of the two stacked servo)

Well I beleive I have the servo wires figured out but now I noticed another problem

I was just trying to barely get it off the ground when I noticed something. The blades are spinning the wrong way. I don't know if this is normal or not but on mine you can push the main gear counter clockwise and it just free spins and you can push it the other way and that engages the tail blade and spins the main blade but the blades are spinning backwards and instead of creating lift is doing the opposite and pushing it into the ground.

Also, Should any of the servos be moving while throttling up? As is right now when accelerating the servos on the swash plate are moving.

main blade`s spin clockwise, tail blade`s spin counter clockwise.
try swapping any two motor wire`s.
if you swap any two motor wire`s and you still have the same issue, then someone at the factory has installed the oneway bearing in upsidedown.
yes servo`s move when you give it throttle, this is how you get pitch in the blade`s.

if you could post a short video i could help you better.

Sounds like he has the collective reversed, if it was the motor the tail rotor would spin clockwise and the main rotor would`nt spin at all. (unless it`s a constant driven tail)

bad 400, is it possible for you to post a video of you TX stick movements relative to the cyclic and collective. (i know it can be a pain to remove the motor wires)

cheers
john

Nvm, the blade is going the right way and its taking off now.

problem is it keeps tipping over while taking off so I immediately have to shut it town or else it will tip over

Because of the missing camera here are the best pictures I can get with my phone

one thing i see right off, you`ll want to cut the the arm off on the servo behind the mast. the excess portion of the servo arm you are not useing will hit the belt drive pully.
is the motor`s pinion rideing on the bigger of the two maingear`s? i cant tell in the pic`s.
in this video, it`s hard to see things proper. my camera is built into my laptop.
looking at the heli from the tail, i`m trying to show you when i move the right stick from left to right, the swashplate move`s that way.
and when i move the right stick forward`s and backward`s, the swashplate move`s forward`s and backward`s as the stick does.
when i move the throttle stick up, the swashplate move`s up.

also if you have`nt yet, you might want to do this on you`r heli. it will save you a couple of crash`s. the pic of the pinion to main gear is just for reference
the first pic is of a small screw i put in after the tail case kept turnning, drill a hole through one side of the case and boom, then install a short screw, just long enough to pinatrate the boom.
second pic i did the same small screw and hole drilling, this will keep the skid`s from turnning.

the left servo`s is not moveing, it`s either bad or it`s not plugged in right.
unplug the left servo, and plug it into another channel that you know the servo is moveing in. if it still does`nt move, then it`s bad.
or you have some how changed the swashtype from 120 degress to 90 degress.

the only way you`ll get the blade`s to change pitch, is by holding the flybar paddle`s still and moveing the throttle sitck up and down. make sure you either have the throttle hold switch on, or unplug any two motor wire`s.

Bad Boy

from your vid. in your front room, that gyro and servo combo is definitely doing it's thing! can't wait to get a 'working' HH gyro on my Blade as i've had to 'fly' the tail ever since i've had it (px not a bad thing but i would like to be able to appreciate a proper HH gyro)

you don't look that rusty from the vid!?

Matty )

i would have to say that gimble in the radio is bad then.
if you can move the servo with trim and sub-trim, the stick gimble is bad.
you do have 120 degress set in the swashtype menu right? if so then contact xheli on the www.rcdiscuss.com forum`s. scroll down untill you see the xhelisupport thread. talk to andy and let him know what the radio is doing and what you have done to diagnose this problem.
either the swashtype setting`s are wrong, or the radio is just bad.

matty,
that gyro and servo combo is well worth the money, it just make`s the heli feel like it could fly itself.
the new Jr g270 gyro here in the state`s is sell for 110 dollar`s, it`s almost the same gyro as my g370. the only difference from my understanding, it the g370 has a nitro/elec toggle on it that change`s the sensor`s dampning peramitor`s.
the g270 is designed for electric heli`s only. but it still just as good as the g370.

i have`nt flown a heli in 6 day`s when i made that video, so my transition`s from side to side were`nt the best.
