Default heli loosing altitude

hi,
i have a second hand cx3 and when i start flying, it can fly pretty high.
as the minutes go by, i notice it's harder and harder to keep the heli in a high altitude.
i know it can be caused by a battery that is loosing power, but when i check the battery voltage it looks pretty good.
i land the heli and wait for a couple minutes.
then, i try again and the heli is able to fly high.
i'd like to know if it can be caused by motors getting hot.
does brushed motors that aren't in very good shape cause this kind of thing?
thanks.

My first guess is to agree with Jim. Ever left the lights on and ran your car battery down to where it just can't start? Walk away and leave it sitting for 10 0r 15 mins and it has built up just enough surface charge to start the car? That's kind of you're describing. And the way I look at it is I can always use another battery so if that wasn't the problem no big deal.

How hot does the motor get? Warm to the touch, ouch that hurts or I've got a blister now.

Hi,
I have a little voltage indicator for lipo batteries and it says that the battery is 3.9 volts per cell.
Despite the voltage is ok, the problem still can be the battery, right?
Thanks.

I had a heat sink and it is possible that the time and power it takes to get up there may be a motor problem. It may get to a point where the motor(s) are overheating. I did have one and burned up a motor. Adding heat sinks to the mtors really helps the motors.
