Glow plug
 

Hi

Is there a certain type of glow plug you need for heli's?
Iusually fly planes, but i am having ago at helis.
I put an OS 8 in my heli (Thunder Tigre 39), I have one flight, then the plug won't work again.

I really don't want to have 1 plug, 1 flight :( Will cost a fortune!

If you smoked the plug, especially an OS8 in one flight you were either running too lean or sealed your muffler with RTV and used too much.

That or you have a bearing coming apart. Examining the plug should give you your answer.

Ahh thanks. I didn't know it could damage plugs running it too lean.
It has been running lean though, the engine wouldn't run right so I was messing with it alot.

Now I know why it's doing it anyway.

Yup, overheating the plugs by running too lean is the quickest way to go through them, that gets expensive in a hurry :)
