Buying a Transmitter

I'm looking into picking up RealFlight or Phoenix soon, but I want to purchase a transmitter that I won't have to replace when I start flying the real deal. Preferably, I would be buying something to use with the sim that I can then use on a fully featured heli. I've heard a lot of mention about the Spektrum DX6i. Would this be a good long-lasting transmitter, and is there anything I need to look for when buying this transmitter?

RE: Buying a Transmitter

RealFlight comes with a transmitter, well a fake one that plugs into your USB

You probably dont want all that wear and tear on a real transmitter in any case but it comes with a couple of adapter cables.

DX7S is a better deal than the 6i but the 6i is adaquate if you're going to stick with smaller electric stuff.

RE: Buying a Transmitter

I have a 6i and it is fine, and works on my Phoenix sim out of the box. If you just starting out, I suspect you'll get your money's worth from the 6i. Also, double-check on the 7s. I recall it needs an additional adapter for Phoenix.
