Cloud Quest RC Heli
 

I am new to this hobby. I received my first 'real' (non- Air Hogs) RC Heli for Christmas this year (at least I think that its more 'real' than a toy). It is the Propel 4 channel Cloud Quest heli with fixed pitch and a direct drive rear rotor (or whatever its called when the rear rotor is driven by its own separate motor). It was snowing out, so I was messing with it around inside until the snow stopped. When I took it out, I flew it pretty well but then my dad landed it somewhat hard on the tail boom/shaft/thing. After this landing, it was stuck spinning in circles because the rear rotor wasn't working. I am still not sure why it broke, because everything I know about electric motors tells me that a motor shouldn't break that easily. When I took it inside, I noticed that the tail boom/shaft/thing had a dent in it near the body, which I am guessing resulted from the tail boom being bent upward. Is the Cloud Quest just a crappy helicopter or did I just get a bad one? I have to get it exchanged now because Propel seems to sell no replacement motors for the heli, and the nearest good Hobby store is hours away from where I am. I figured it would be cheaper and easier to just exchange the heli.
Now I have a few questions:
1.How durable and reliable is this heli?
2. Why would this crash break the helicopter? Was it the motor, or could it have been the gyro or signal receiver? (it took a lot more of a beating inside when I slammed into my couches, and even my 30 dollar Air Hogs Heli took much harder crashes a lot more times before it broke)
3. Is this even a good heli
4. In case I ever need to, where can I find replacement parts for the Cloud Quest?
5. What kind of tricks can you do with a 4 channel fixed pitch heli?
6. is there anything I can do to help protect the motor or reinforce the tail boom?

It's not as much a toy as a beginner heli four channel hobby. I have flown numerous copters over the years and found this one to be really good for the money.

I'm sorry to hear that you're dad crashed it but it wasn't meant to withstand hard landings. I've been flying mine for a while and have no issues with it but i haven't crashed it (yet).

I would suggest bringing it back to get a new one and don't let your dad got it anymore.
