Be Safe! Learn from the Master
There is nothing more exciting than getting your bird in the air but do not let your enthusiasm for flying put you and others in danger.
Take a look at Mr Curtis Youngblood in this video and see what he does naturally, without thinkingat the start of it.
Oviously not happy withthe set upbefore flying and he takes the heli up to a low hover and then lands it. He makes a further trim adjustment a couple of times but the thing he is constantly aware of is his position relative to the craft. Youwill see him position himself before take off to the correct safe operating position relative toit and he maintains this every time the heli is about to be flown.
He has safe practise down to an instinctive reaction. ALWAYS be in the safe zone relative to the heli.

It cannot be stressed enough that safety with a helicopter is paramount, we all spend hours building, trimming, checking and setting up our pride and joys but let's not forget that accidents can happen, but most of them can be avoided if we play safe, so take a tip from Mr Youngblood.
