Wow, you are dating yourself here. I will date myself too. When I started with thelicopters, I considered the GMP Line, but was attracted more by the Legend. Since it was a little too expensive for my budget, I settled on a Sport 500 from Hobby Lobby. A combination of lack of local support and wrong tools kept me from flying that thing. A year or so later, I got a Concept 30 DX. The great instructions and simple tools included in the kit, helped me really fly for the first time. All I did on the Sport 500 was hover a few inches off the ground. I can say that I learned on a Concept 30DX.

Yes, my years have shown I guess,Very nice fleet of Machines you have there my friend.I had a Legend, I was a nice flyer and beautiful Purple Anodized Aluminum. But I really did not like 60 size birds, so I stayed with the Concept 30's I had a C30 SRJet Ranger , SR Hughes 500 and an SR Bell222, I always liked the small look and ease of smaller model aircraft.. I just scaled up my Blade 450 3D with a U.S.Army Hughes 500, Here it is: Lets see those Heli's

206B3 Jet Ranger Not a 206L (long ranger), the LR has an extra window between the front and back doors.

Default RE: Let's see some of your Birds

I prefer to fly airplanes over helis...but I do enjoy the heli side of the hobby very much!

At the moment I am still very new (only been flying anything for 2 years now) and my heli hangar isnt nearly as full as my airplane one.

But I do own 6 helis toal, 4 of which are 450 size and up.

In the pic are 2 450 clones (EXI) a 500 clone (EXI) and a Raptor 50. I also own a cheapo micro co-axial that was the first heli I bought as well as a Blade mSR.

I hoping to really get serious with my heli flying this season and try and progress a bit to FF circuits. As of now I am still just doing slow flight in circles with various hovering heights and piros.

Actually no, just a 6x10 box trailer load! LOL

Last count I have 16 airplanes (not all are flying at the moment). I think I am flying about half of them at this point in.

Im flying (if you can call it that) all of my heli's though.

Like I said...I enjoy the airplanes more at this point. That may be because I am more comfortable flying them. That all may change once I progress into fast forward circuits and light 3D.
My biggest hesitation on helis at this point isnt really the cost of a crash...but the loss of time doing the repairs and setting it back up to go again. Im not that good at setting CP helis up and takes me a lot of hours to get it "just right". Im sure in time that will get better too.

Thanks for the comment on my helis.

" Don't look at your helicopter and see your checkbook hovering there"

Easier said than done! LOL

But still...I dont invest in the creme of the crop. Why I only have a handful of models (helis and planks) that are made by a major known brand. I can build 2 450 clones for the price of 1 Align...so for and so on.

So really the cost of a crash doesnt botherme that much. Its just the 2 - 5 hours of time it would take me to rebuild a heli and then adjust it back in. Id rather pay 100 bucks and have it flying again...than to pay 50 bucks and work on it for 5 more hours after the monies spent.

So really for me...its more like...

"Dont look at your heli and see my time invested pre ANDpost crash hovering there."

I can always make more money....just cant make more time!
