Copter x Cx 5G servo melted??

Yeah thats what i doo with the fixed pitch machines.The times i found that the heli did lift streight up.Is when it was spinning from poor gyro setting.It hoverd nice and stable while spinning but once i locked the tail forget it.I jumped it up in the air and came down on the right tipping over snapping the feathering shaft in two.To be honest i dont see why it cant be as stable as a fixed pitch.Also the heli seemed to slam down is the -3 to much?
