Add leds to quad copter
I have a blade mqx, I am wanting to add some leds to it but I'm not sure what's the best way to go about it. I have some leds that run on 3v nominal. My idea was to just solder them to the motor wires. But then I started to think on the current the motors get. So that may be out. I am probably making a trip to radio shack tomorrow to get some things so I can pick up some other leds or resistors if needed. Thanks for the help.

I have found a way that is just what in was looking for! And I already have all the components (except I still want to go and grab some other color leds) but anyway here the video I found. It's crude but looks like it will work. And it also assures me that is an led goes bad that I won't damage the board on the mqx since it's a completely separate power source. www.youtube.com/watch

I bought mine from this guy.
He has a set for the mqx. Works great.
Only thing is the mQX board doesnt have the extra channel to be able to turn them on and off with a switch on the radio. So you have to "Y" plug them into your battery.
I find that I normally get around 12 or so minutes of flight without the LEDs on and around 10 minute flights with them on.

[/img]I got everything all wired up and installed. They are nice and bright. I had (still on there) a red led for the rear but I made a mistake and bought 1. 8v led instead of 3-5v like the rest. So when I powered them up that one only lasted about a minute. Anyway here the pics.[img]
