Green Shuttle many years ago. Couldn't fly it.
Then a couple of years ago I started fooling around with RF and got an Ergo 60 Sport. It's now a Schweizer 300 and I have a Century Bell 222 and a Bell Longranger. I kinda went scale.

MFA full bodied Hughes 500 FP with a Fox 50... never did fly & weighed a ton.. The next year they came out with the sport 500 which looked like my full body heli with almost all the body taken off to save weight....
The first to fly was a Nexus 30

Started with a shuttle zx eons ago. Sold it when it came after me.
I was looking for a relaxing hobby. Heli's were not it.
A couple of years ago bought a zagi and had a blast. After 16 electric planes I started to get bored.
Played with helis in RF and could hover no big deal. Couldn't believe it. Asked the local heli shop about how true RF was and he said "pretty close".
So I bought a Corona after reading about it on eZone. Dorked it in about 40 times. Cost me about $100 for those 40 times.
Then I got bored with a FP heli. So I bought a CP Hornet thinking I could fly it in the house. Mistake. Your really need more than a living room to set one of these guys up.
Next up, a rap 30. After two weeks I advanced past the capabilities of the tt.36 so I upgraded it to the OS50.
When I go to the field, people freak. They don't believe that the guy doing flips, rolls and FFF never had any help and learned from RF G2. (There is a sales pitch in there somewhere).
The sad thing is I think that the heli was my nemesis. I am starting to conquer it. The planes (all18 of them currently) sit gathering dust as I just do not find them exciting.
Maybe someone I meet will want to learn planes and bring the challenge back.

My first heli was a Cricket, I still have the old Cricket in the basement. I might get it out and get her flying again soon. I bought a new canopy for it about 4 years ago. I bet it still has that old Kraft gyro in it.....I will look soon...Memories.........but good ones.

1st Helicopter was the X-Cell 50, with Webra 50, Helo Ball Muffler, and Circus Hobbies (JR) Century VII Helicopter Radio, and JR 120 BB Gyro. Gyro, and A-Frame are the only original parts left
Would have saved a bunch of $ if I just bought the 60 instead of upgrading the 50. But then, I did the same thing with the X-Cell 30, go figure

My first heli back during my first attempt at flying these things was a Du-Bro Shark 60 back in 1979. It was a real beast to fly - no gryo of course, and I never could get rid of all the radio noise. It had fixed pitch, a torque tube for the tail, and control "cans" instead of paddles ( the cans were pieces of thin aluminum curled to form a can shape). I only flew it maybe a dozen times before i gave up.
Well, a year and a half ago I tried it again, this time with a ShuttleZ-TS. Not a bad heli but not cheap to fix either, so after I crashed it, I decided to get a R30. I think it is a great heli, no matter what anybody says - cheap to fix and flies great. I did my first roll with it a few weeks back!
I now have a R60 and i just love it. I haven't done any aerobatics with it yet as the engine is still new, and I want to break it in some first. From what I can tell after about 10 flights is it is going to be a great flying heli.

Lite Machines Corona-Has taken me from hover to forward flight with only about $20.00 in repair bills. I can't believe how fast that little heli goes. People who watch it can't believe it also.
Of course I've spent hours on my sim Dave Brown's RCFS 2001 and FMS. At first I was disapointed with FMS until I got some upgraded helicopters off the web. Now I really enjoy flying the thing.
One of these day's I'm going to get my Logo 10 and Century Falcon going.
I don't think I'll every get rid of the Corona it's just so cute, it's like the RC helicopter that could.
