Ok ... it was a weak moment ... they didn't have my 9253 servo in stock, so I bought a set of carbon blades. There 550's, sorta expensive, about $79 to be exact. They changed my throttle setups, to the extent I had overspeeding after I lifted off and settled into a hover, then they started speeding up ... Why? I set throttle curves a little lower and it seemed to help, but there still is that acceleration after things stabilize. Really nice blades though. This is the first time I have tried something other than wood blades.

Been checking prices at varius places. Think maybe I paid ok for the blades... I just got much more blade than I can use ... they are carbon 3D symetrical. Maybe will put the woodies back on for awhile, atleast until I can use the performance they will give me.
sure do look nice though ...

Ron, glass or carbon blades ALWAYS require some tweaking of the curves when changing from woodies. Put your throttle curve back where it was. Put your pitch gauge on and re-adjust the pitch curve to give what you had before,ie 0º at 1/2 stick. Wood blades typically have more lift because they are less efficient and have more drag.

Ron,
I think you might want to check this site
http://www1.cyberheli.com/SAB/index.htm

Looks like Furyflyer was correct ... they charged me nearly double the going price. I guess I've always trusted those guys, they have always been fair before. Always helpful. Live and learn I guess ... hope I can afford to live alittle longer.
Regards to pitch curves, I was under the impression to set my pitch as linear as possible, then work the throttle curve to meet the needs of the pitch. right now I have:
20, 30, 42, 60, 100, throttle
30, 40, 50, 75,100, pitch ... total available pitch is -10 - +10
When I was messing with it yesterday I brought the #4 throttle curve to 53 and it seemed to help. I haven't put the gauge on it with the new blades yet ... didn't think it would change.

Ron, by your radio numbers, you're not linear. Linear means the same on both sides of zero. In my JR radio pitch curve, my points are in at 0,25,50 75 and 100. I choose a servo wheel/arm that allows the ATV's to be set at as near 100% as can be achieved. The radio point at 50% is half way between 0 and 100. The 50% point is 0º pitch. The servo arm is 90º to the servo body at the 50% point. The 75% point is +5º pitch. The 25% point is -5º pitch. The 0% point is -10º pitch. The 100% point is +10º pitch. The throttle curve has the same points as the pitch. 0, 25,50,75,100. The carb is open half way at the 50% 1/2 stick point. Again, choose a servo arm that will allow as near 100% ATV's to be used. You may have to move the ball in or out on the throttle lever on the carb to get this mechanically correct. Try this and see how nice it flys. You may want to loose some of the negative pitch in normal. I use the 3D curve in all flight modes. Normal, idle ups, and throttle hold. You just need to be real sensitive setting it down in normal with all the negative in the curve.

OK .. put the woodies back on for the trial and errors I was sure to endure during the testing of my curve settings, I found some interesting things today. In checking pitch angles and comparing them with my curve settings I did find I was in the ball park with the upper half of my settings... meaning pitch 50..75..100 also ment 0 .. 5 .. 10 degrees, now the lower half was ok with what I am capable of doing I think I am somewhere in the neighborhood of -5 at full back stick, this is in normal mode. In idle up 1 .. a friend set it up for me in anticipation of having it work for me the first time I had the nerve to switch to idle up, he set it :
10 .. 25 .. 50 ..75 .. 100 pitch
100 .. 70 .. 61 .. 70 .. 100 throttle
I found that in my normal mode, I was able to run:
20 .. 25 .. 50 ..75 .. 100 throttle
30 .. 35 .. 50 ..75 .. 100 pitch
This was with the wood blades, the head speed came up a little, but it seemed ok. Now the other problem I posted another thread on stopped me from continuing .. had some not so funny noises starting to happen.

yeah Cyberheli has the blades for 49.99. but then add about $20 shipping and 4 days later that makes them $69.99. So you paid $10 more and got them when you wanted them and you also supported your LHS here in the USA. So don't feel like you got took.

20.00 shipping ? Huh it's only 12.00 speed post. Here in the US similar blades 50.00 plus $7-10 shipping and you get them 7 days later. I'll get them oversea's anyday.

Guys, your got em crossed up......
N71505 said "they are carbon 3D symetrical". FuryFlyer said "I pay 35.00 for F/G SAB 550".
These are not the same blades. Carbon SABs are always more than the glass version.
N71505,
CyberHeli sells those blades for $49.99. Add on ~$10 for Speedpost and your a tad over charged. So, in the future save up the dough and order 2 sets and that averages you out to probably $55 each.
Also, Ricks sells em real cheap too. SAB are fabulous blades.
