Default Engine

Try a YS engine. I have a .61 in mine and its silky smooth at idle and real powerful. They got that built in fuel pump and they run great with an enya#3.

They also offer in the bigger sizes you want.

Default Advice On Heli Engine (freya) Help

I have a 91 in my x-spec. I love it once I get it started. It has been a pain to start so far when it is colder out.

I have to have my truck running to get the voltage up and lay the heli on it's side. If that doesn't work I loosen the glowplug until it's running then tighten it back up.

I had no issues when it was warmer. It has had 7 tanks through it so it may get easier to start once broken in.

All in all it has just been a big learning experience since my OS50 on my Rap 50 could almost be started by hand.

I guess my point is don't discount the other items you may need to upgrade if you go to a 91 - Starter, batteries, muffler, fuel....

Have fun with whatever you end up with.

Consider the YS-80 if you want a big block. The fuel system is rock solid, it has loads of power, and the Freya loves it!

I agree with the YS80, Freya loves it, not too bad to start, and the fuel consumption is not as bad. Plenty of power for the Freya too.

Default OS 91

I have the OS 91 in mine with the Perry Pump. Works perfectly, plenty of power.

The vibration is acceptable and I only run 15% nitro. YS's need the higher nitro.

I use (2) 7 cell 1900 sub c's for my wireless starter and have no problems turning the 91 over. I get about 10 minutes before I hit the header tank.

I am running the 95/12 gearing and turn 1900 (1890 tached) headspeed.

I dunno about the YS "needing" 30% nitro, as I have been flying my YS80 on 15% exclusively, and it runs great with lots of power. Granted, I am not doing all the "hard stuff", and imagine that I would get more power with 30%, but I would not say that it is necessary . . .

I run my YS80 on 20% nitro, and it runs great on that. I run all my heli's on WC 20/18.
