Default Nitro Fuel For RC Helicopters

I have 20% Nitro Glow fuel and I'm not sure if I can use it on a Nitro RC Helicopter because I'm buying a Venture 30 CP. Can RC Helicopters use 20% Nitro Glow Fuel? Do RC Helicopters have a special Nitro fuel or do they use any Nitro fuel?

I think it has more oil in it to help with cooling

probabley not then, car fuel only has 8-10% oil. You might be okay with plane fuel which has 18% oil.

You really need fuel with an oil content over 18%

be careful as already metioned with low oil content fuel,
ive used cheap plane fuel in all my helis for years with no more trouble then the heli flyers who use the more expencive heli fuel.
20 percent nitro though is not a problem in nearly most heli engines but dont run it weak .
what engine you going to use ???

As stated the key is oil percentage, most helicopter fuels have more.

I'm not sure what the oil percentage of my Nitro Fuel is because it doesn't say on the fuel bottle. The only thing the bottle says is that there is 20% Nitro Methane in the fuel.

You will be better off getting new fuel anyway. I just moved up to nitro helis from electrics and i am shocked how much gas my little os 37 consumes. Barely gets 10 minutes on a 10oz tank. My sk 90 in my funtana 50 gets better mileage than that. I burned through 1/2 gallon in only 8 flights. I suggest you just bite the bullet and get 4-5 gallons of heli fuel.

As stated above the heli fuel has more oil in it to enhance the cooling effect because the engine do not get the benefit of prop wash and the engines do not it out in the airflow like airplane engines do.

Those people in lower elevations can run helicopters on nitro content down to 15% but those of us in the upper atmosphere need to run the 30% stuff ($26 a gallon) to get the average performance for our helis. We do get the benefit of being able to lean our engines out more because we have less air to mix it with. Most of my helis can run around 15 minutes on a tank but that is the most I can take flying at one time.

I fly off a field at 750 meters asl. I've run my TT46ProH in my Raptor 50 on everything from 15% up to 30% nitro, and for my style of flying I've found I don't need anything above 23% nitro so I save my money. I also get about 12 minutes flight time from a fill up (including header tank) but I am personally ready to stop normally before the fuel stops me flying.

Minimum 18% oil is a must though. As already stated, car fuel doesn't have enough oil.

Yes, but on the fuel bottle, car fuel isn't written and it also doesn't say how much oil there is in it. The only thing written on the Nitro Fuel Bottle is that there is 20% Nitro Methane in it.

What is the brand?

I am telling you that unless you have like 3-4 gallons of the stuff it is not worth fusing over one gallon. Heli's burn fuel alot faster than rc cars because most have almost twice the displacment.

Its your engine, is it worth more than a gallon of fuel will cost if you burn it up?
