I though this would be a fun post but it looks like most are viewing and then not taking the poll. I guess I don;t understand opening a poll thread then not voting. Maybe I should have put a what the heck is IRCHA answer. Maybe the coaxial guys don't know what IRCHA is.

To be quite honest with you. There are several of these threads on other forums other than this one. And you might be right on the money here:
I have noticed that there are some forums that attract micro / mini heli guys more than others, this seems to be one of them. Simply because they gravitate from plan.... -ahem-, airplanes or cars to helicopters, and this is the forum they used to hang out anyway. If you go to RunRyder and find the thread where the same question is asked, there is probably 4-5 pages of answers.

BTW, I'm not going to IRCHA. I would love to go, but I can't afford to take days off if I want to take a relaxing vacation at some other time during the year.

Hey BCH,

I have never been to the IRCHA jamboree. What kind of events do they have? There isn't a schedule on the IRCHA site. Is it just a big fun fly or is it a competition or both?

Seems like a dumb question since I am planning on going and I don't even know what is going on. I assume there will be open flying, competitions, demonstrations, vendor booths, and I am hoping for maybe a lesson from a pro and I would like to pass a couple of levels of the pilot proficiency program if they have a station for that. I am really not going there to fly as much as watch and learn. I plan on doing plenty of scale research while I am there also! I do know a couple guys going so I will have a few guys to hangout with.

Its mostly open flying. There will be vendor booths, lots of demos. Not much in the way of competition, every now and then they have trex 450 pylon racing and such.

Other than that I'll be finding out when you will as it will be my first trip.

BTW we are doing the gig in jax again this year if you boys want to come back.

17,18,19 of October eh? I'll set that aside and try to get that trip planned out soon. Had a load of fun down there last time. Be nice to come with a few more toys and some better flying skills this time!

Don't think delta would let you fit me in some luggage, also I would probably end up in new mexico or some other place instead of your intended destination!

Ok guys, maybe a dumb question here, but I've not gotten an answer yet from another forum so I'll try here as my time is limited. Do you have to be an IRCHA member to fly at this event? I'm assuming that I'm too late to pre-reg for this as the form is blank now, but what is the fee? Can't go for the whole thing but will be driving down friday afternoon and I need to know how much cash it will take to be able to fly there.

you DO NOT need to be a IRCHA memeber, but you need to be an AMA member. I think Gate fees are 45 dollars? It was cheaper if you pre reg.

Bad news for me. I have to work Saturday now. I have no options. New project at a plant that is going to be shut down on Saturday. I need to be there during shut down. I am bummed but I guess thats why they pay us the big bucks. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend!

Yea!! If this no-oraginization would like help in marketing, please let me know. I, too, searched all over the site looking for real information. You know, like WHERE will it be held! Perhaps they really don't want anyone new to attend. The good- ole- boy club. Unbelievable.
