"It's not a VTOL?"
I said this during the maiden flight of my Falcon 2, I had bought this plane already built at a local shop, whoever had built it had built it real tail heavy, I started out with a OS .40 on the nose which I knew was a bit overkill, but after fighting with trying to get it to balance for a couple of hours and several ounces of nose weight I got ticked. I should have stopped messing with it then and come back later, but I didn't, I decided in my silly arrogance, that instead of adding a lot of nose weight, I'd just put a larger engine on it. A little while later I had a MDS .48 Pro bolted on it with a 3 blade prop, a 10 x 6 as I recall. The insanity is showing here isn't it, LOL. The take off and flight was fun, actually pretty nice, it was the landing that was tricky, I couldn't slow it down enough for a safe landing. I knew I was close to having an empty tank so I pulled it into a hover over some tall grass on the far side of the field and let the tank run dry. Ended up readjusting the throttle linkage so that full down throttle and trim would cut the engine for deadstick landings.

RE: Things you say after crashing
I have a electric delta pusher fitted with a rudder. The plane can flat spin at full throttle and full rudder at about 4 rpm. Give it aileron and acts sort of like a helicopter, flat spinning while slowly descending.
So one day I'm flying at the club when there was a rather large crowd. I put the bird into the flat spin at about 200 feet up. I could here the crowd oooing and awwiiing.
But I listened too long. The plane was too low. There was no way to transition from flatspin to flight before plane meets ground.
I chopped throttle and let her belly flop onto the ground. The crowd went 'gasp'. I paused a second, turned to the crowd and bowed. The crowd responded with applause and laughs.
The plane was found in a 'crop circle' of California wild grass. It was fine except for a broken rudder.

RE: Things you say after crashing
my dad brings two Stryker "C"s to the AEF. I get my spotter to launch mine and I start doing circles untill my dad is is launched. After he gets stable I do a slit-S and fall in behind him. He rolls over into a dive and I follow (there are now people taking behind us) at the last second I do a Max-G pullup and dad's is seen doing one bounce off the ground.
I am now going vertical and dad says "you lost yours" and all I could say is , No dad, that was yours. followed by a slightly delayd OH sh*t!
