I'm An Idiot
I just spent an hour trying to get the aluminum starter cone off of a nice Sullivan Dynatron starter.
After pounding on it and prying it and using gear puller on it, it finally broke off.
It was then that I found out it is threaded on and all I had to do was screw it off.
I thought the whole time that it was pressed on and was just corroded and stuck.
There goes $120 down the drain.

I would like to follow up with this story.
I contacted Sullivan and was completely honest about my blunder and how I destroyed the motor.
hey told me to send in the starter and they would warranty it.
I only paid shipping and they sent my starter rebuilt with a new shaft at no cost.
I will forever be a Sullivan fan.
Unbelievable customer service!
