I put a cover over the aileron servo, put some paint on the linkages to black them out, and fixed a few marks on the wings. The servo cover is peel and stick shelf liner that I primed and painted. This cover was never put on because it was in the star and bar area and I was too lazy to repaint the white. Still waiting on the Phil Knuckles Vigilante plans.

Hi Jeff,
Actually I never weighed it fully assembled. I know the wings are 5 1/2 lbs each on the baby scale. The fuse., I couldn't get a good read on the bathroom scale. but I am guessing the whole plane is in the mid 50 lb. range dry. With the engine mounted in the tail I needed around 5 lbs of lead in the nose. With a mid engine mount you will need less lead. Don't be afraid to add the lead it needs to balance. The plane flys light on the sticks and grooves well with 37 # of thrust. We have 300" of runway at our field and the plane doesn't use it all. I think it would fly well at 70lbs. If I get a chance to accurately weigh the whole plane I will let you know. Start a thread of your build so we can watch your progress.
Thanks,
Joe Felonk

Thanks for the reply Joe. I won't start on it until after the summer. I'm finishing a blown up 1/4 scale Meister P-47. It will be May before I'm finished with that project. I'm glad to hear how well it fly's and puts me at ease now knowing I won't have to worrytoo much about weight. Jeff
