IS the fuse and wing tank big enough for a JC Rhino turbine for 5-8 min flights?

Hi, I'm using like these tank http://carf-models.com/en/products/u...nk/parent/3617, but hand made, for JC P-120, 3,1 lit volume. Always I land with 1-1,3 lit remaining after 7min flight (timers ON just before take off) use 50-70% throttle, 100 just for take off.
The wing tank I use for smoke.

Most here fly with the stock set up of fuse and wing tank. 7-8 mins is normal. You have about 3ltrs that can be used if you have felt clunks.

I used to have a propane start Rhino in my Ultra and had my timer set @ 6:30. Earlier this year, I put in a 120SX and love it. My timer is @ 9mins now. Huge difference in speed, but still plenty fast with the 120!

David likes his first Ultra Flash so much he wanted a second one ASAP. For this one we decided to try and keep things light. Dry weight (including flight packs but no fuel in the UAT) is 22.91 lbs with the following equipment:

Merlin 140
Xicoy FC1 w/pitot tube
Behotec C40
Jeti CB200 w/3 R3 Rx
MKS HBL 575SL (ail. elv, rud)
MKS HV1220 (flaps)
MKS HV1230 (nose wheel)
bavarianDEMON Cortex
(2) TP 2s 2700 (radio power)
(1) TP 2s 3900 (ECU and retract power)
Jeti MUI 30
Jet Tech Kevlar main and saddle tanks (all plumbed w/8mm fittings and line in case David decides the 140 is not strong enough)

Beautiful installation. Where are the batteries located? Any additional weight required?

Thanks, Ken

Danny the pictures look awesome. I can not wait till I get it next week. Your "Team" at the Rocket Factory does an amazing job in building these jets. The goal was to keep this one "light". You achieved below 23 pounds, but going with Merlin 140X... jury is still out on that...

You know before the JetCat P220RXiB moves to the Shockwave, it will be tested on this airframe. I am sure it will stay there and a second P220 will go into the Shockwave.

With great thanks to the entire TEAM at the "Rocket Factory"..

The two radio flight packs mount in the standard locations on either side on the nose wheel. The ECU/Retract pack mounts in the center just aft of the nose wheel in its retracted position. CG was just past the aft limit with no additional weight. David will need to check this again once he gets his packs in the airplane.

The center connector is a 10 position Molex Mini Fit Jr: http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...262-ND/3044456. Both the main gear/brakes are connected.

The other connectors are Emcotec: http://shop.rc-electronic.com/CONNEC...=A85085&p=3360. Each one connects aileron/flap for each wing.

Hey Dave Whilshire,

I noticed in post 4611 about a year ago you mentioned a build with the Swiss Scheme and a decal set. I've ordered a Swiss Scheme and plan to scale the jet as much as possible in the "Patrouille Swiss" livery. Looking for some decals for their logos, etc.

Merry Christmas Guys.

Needed some stuff for my Kingcat & wasn't getting any good hits on RCU, so I went around my neighborhood & ended up finding a sign & lettering shop. Turns out they can make anything I can think of, either in paint mask so I can spray it, or actual vinyl stickers.

The decals were not to add scale, just advertising and bling-but I'd go to Tailor Made decals and get him to do some. But there are lots of places who can make them if you can do artwork.
I'd contact Ralle

Happy Xmas

Hi All,

Waiting for my kit to arrive. Been through the manual twice and have a question: What keeps the inner thrust tube centered in the outer tube at the bell mouth end?

Thanks.

Design!
The outer is held by the tail cone and snug fit in the mid former, with 2 fixing lugs
The carbon bell mouth is fixed by design, so it all works out.
You will probably have to open the rear fuselage face opening and match that in the tailcone face.

bell mouth is held to a fuse rib with two 90 degree aluminum brackets and screws.

Hi Dave and i3DM,

Yes the tail section of the tube is clear from the instructions as is fixing the bell mouth to the inner tube and bulk head. My question is about the outer tube at the bell mouth side. It will probably be obvious once I see the parts but I can visualize it from the pictures and manual. Does the outer tube go over the bell mouth? Thanks again.

Inner tube goes into the bellmouth and is fastened with screws. Bell mouth is secured to fuse with L brackets. Outer tube is secured to a former in the fuse as Dave explained.

The outer tube is only 5/8th length, hence the Naca ducts in the lower fuselage are needed to feed this air.
it will all become clear...

Dave, Knowing it is only 5/8" make it all clear. I was thinking it came much further forward. Thanks so much. I'll sleep much better tonight. lol.
