Also, is the the clunk a sufficient size (no need to drill out)?
The gear looks good, but I'm going to use a Xicoy LG15 gyro controller. Has anyone done this? If so, what amperage cutoff does the controller need to be set to? TIA fellow Flash addicts!
There are a LOT of Flash and UF models flying in England, never seen one yet with an after sales tank. The stock one has never given me a problem so adding a heavier one makes no sense.
The stock Evo rank is also fine, being curved throughout it will be even more resilient than the original two tanks

Default Flash tanks

I have a UF that has the original style tanks. Main, saddles and wing tank although the wing tank is not used, and I stopped counting when I broke 200 flights a couple years ago but never had any issues with the original tanks.

What about his second question on the controller? I am probably going this route too and wondered. Thanks....

Default Controller

Sorry but I can't give you a good answer on the controller as all of my jet's gear are pneumatic. I have set up other people's jet's with electric and used what they supplied.

Ive had 3 UF's. 2 of them had leaking tanks from the get go. They were just poor quality. I went aftermarket with Jet-Tech. Never had an issue after that.

Like you can see, I make various different types of tanks for UF, the original shape, the EVO and EVO +.

I’m installing the EVO + in my UF, has 4L and is perfect for use an only one tank.

You can find all these tanks in my website:

BR from Spain.

The latest Felt clunk they supply does have a larger hole and is adequate, but I always use our own High flow felt clunk inner as it’s std in every Jet I build. The felt is the same, it’s just a larger bore inner suitable for the highest flow RXi type turbines.

Ive built 10+ Ultra Flash and none of the tanks leaked, guess I’m lucky 🙂

For paved runways are most of you changing the gear controller out on the EVO? The JP gear seem fine but I am not a fan of On/Off brakes with that controller. At least I haven't found a good way to make any work in the past.

I have been using mine as standard, I have a couple of these in different jets and as long as your not going too fast seems fine, there is some slip and I just dab them on and off, there is a thread somewhere else when someone removed magnets that stopped the locking on

If you see Jose tell him to move the balance point back, he’s still nose heavy.

My EVO came with the small screws on this hatch on the outside corners, but there are a bunch of much fatter screws in the pack. No other small ones like these. Do I use the fat ones?

Thanks!

Yes, the shorter 2.9 screws are meant for those covers. The small ones you have used are for tailcone, nose door hinge, wing tank cover etc

Thank you Dave, those small ones were in those plates and I just replaced them. I will take them and use them for the items you listed.

Additional Fuel tank support. The foam formers fit under the tank and sit on top of the wing. Not 100% needed, but we felt they would reduce the load on the velcro straps

Does anyone with an EVO have a pic of the tailcone and how the pipe fits in and how far it goes in?

Actually any EVO install pics would be welcomed.... thanks

I'll be following this thread closely again, I just ordered my second UF a swiss scheme evo this time. Mine will be powered with a Cheetah 140.
Planing on lights and smoke too.

While waiting on this I have another question--I wanted to use the felt clunk in the main tank because I am not using the hopper, just a UAT. Anyone see any issues with that?
