How are you all doing a Jet Central with the plug that sticks down? I have a new Lynx 130 because I wanted a lighter not as fast jet, but this hits the wing when I try to bolt it on.....

plug hits.....

Just rotate the engine on the straps a little, get the plug to the 4 or 7 o clock position

Jet Central said I could rotate 45º so I just rotated little and the wire is now out of the way. Thanks for the suggestions.

Got my Swiss scheme Evo in yesterday. Very impressed with the level of pre fabrication done.
Just enough in my opinion as I still enjoy some assembly. Gear looks nice and stout.
Mine will be powered with a Jet Central cheetah 140 also planning on lights and smoke.

Had a scare with my 3yr/136 flight Ultra Flash this last weekend. All was perfectly normal until I lowered full flap on downwind in preparation for landing. The model started to act strangely, wandering all over the sky. I fought it and got it turned around headed back towards me. I then thought to raise the flaps back to mid, and it all settled down to normal. Deciding to land with mid-flap I went around, but with no wind the landing was a little hot and I forced it down, breaking the nose gear mounting plate.

On investigation, the left flap outer glass skin had de-laminated, about 1" at the outboard end and extending inboard about 3/4 of the span of the flap. This then caused the flap to blow back resulting in an asymmetric flap condition.

I have never lowered the flaps at high speed, so apart from general wear and tear I'm not sure what caused this de-lamination. Going to try to inject some epoxy resin between the foam and glass skin and bond it back down. The nose gear plate should be relatively easy to Hysol back into place. This was the first ding on a model that has flown perfectly for 3 years. On reflection, with a short field and no wind, I should have gone around and set up for a dead-stick landing and killed the engine on finals. I was a bit behind the model, especially when it started acting up. It normally flies on rails, so lulled into a complacent mid-set.

Something to check on a pre-flight - I'm normally thorough, but not sure I would have noticed the de-lamination without specifically looking for it.

Normally something like that would be from transport or storage, but even someone catching it with their foot could have done it.
Dont use thick epoxy, there will be no void to fill. I would use ZAP 40 finishing resin painted in there with a brush. Also get a tube of grease and run a line along the hinge line inside, so if the epoxy squidges out it won’t seal the hinge tape.

One all my jets a full flap pull/load test on the flaps is a normal pre take off check. Seen too many people roll a model on its back coming in for a slow pass/landing and deploy the flaps only to find one was jammed/broken or servo lost its power.

With hundreds of flights on our multiple Flash jets, that is always a concern. I fear it's not if, but when that will occur one day. We are super careful during transport and storage, but even then you can't always be 100% sure the flaps haven't been knocked around a bit. Even in full-scale aircraft, if you make a control change that adversely affects flight, reverse what you did and then investigate... A no-flap landing isn't the end of the world.

I witnessed a few EVO landing gear that the mains twist a little and then the gear hangs up. Would anyone suggest preventative maintenance on them? Flat spot and loctite for example?

They just need to do the clamp up fully. From the factory they are only 'nipped' the toe in needs setting and clamp screws tightening.
Problem of ARTF models...

Just curious has anyone done nav lights out on the wing tips of an ultra flash? Just wondering if it will be possible to fish the wires from
the wingtip to the aileron/flap servo bays?

So I bought a buddy Ultra flash and it had Smoke and it used the wing tank for the smoke oil . The header tank and saddles where used for Turbine gas . So my question is i'm taking the smoke out and was going to use the header tank and wing tank for turbine gas to keep the CG close . I was thinking if I used the saddle tanks it further behind CG and wouldn't be as good as the wing tank .
Wanted to get your guys opinion on what you guys would use far as tanks ? Am I on the right track Thanks for any help and thanks Scott K

Hello, yes, you can, I have a customer that use the wing tank like last tank before UAT, the rest of Tanks you can connect they in serial or saddle in parallel with serial with main and wing.

I have installed in mine a only bigger main tank. EVO +, with 4L.

Regards from Spain.

stock wing to fuselage to bubble trap works perfectly if you use hi-flow clunks. The saddle tanks don’t move the range excessively, I have one customer using all 4 tanks! Long flight times...

I used all 4 tanks to get extra flight time but the extra two minutes wasn’t worth the extra connections and take off weight now back to saddles and main tank 190sv from start to end of 6.5 minute timer 800ml left.
