Just curious as to which manufacturers you have found to have a superior build quality regardless of price. Definitely not trying to start a brand war here but since you have put together some European brands, I'm interested in your opinion. Thanks

First it was the customer service, then the springs in some gear he bought, now the glue joints lol!! This guy clearly has some grudge against somebody as he keeps coming back despite saying he's done with C-ARF. No need to bash this kit. It's the best sport jet out there period. If you want to bash a kit,go over to the FEJ thread where the jets are literally falling apart in the air.

So in your view one is not allowed to voice an opinion ? or experience's ?
You seem to be all high & mighty with a person expressing their views on an open forum talking planes that come from carf
As for springs ......I have no idea what you are on about

It wasn't really an opinion. It was more directed towards bashing the kit as to deter someone from getting one. I don't think there's any need to question the structural integrity of the kit. And you must remember, some people are putting 200N turbines in the flash which is designed for 70-120N

There is a build thread in progress at the moment - funny how he is telling of imperfections on his model , don't see anyone over there bashing him for expressing his dislikes.....?
I guess some have nothing better to do
Seems if you say a discontented word regarding a product your the worst in the world ,
I can tell you one thing....I give my customers 101% satisfaction, and I deal with multi-million dollar equipment and nuclear QA

Lets get back to the reason why this thread exists.
Need some advise please, what method do you guys recommend to install and hold my saddle tanks in place? Silicone, velcro?
Thanks in advance

I made a small mini-bulkhead attached to the fuselage at the front of the tank with a cutout in it to hold around the tank fitting, and added a ply plate on the aft end of the tank which is used to screw the tank in place on a block added to the front of the engine mounting bulkhead.
Securely hold the tank in place and only one self-tapping screw to remove and each tank easily lifts out.
Hard to describe in words, but I don't have any pictures right now - I will try to take some this evening to help explain.

William,
Photos of my Ultra Flash saddle tank installation and fuel line routing.
The saddle tank vent lines run forward to a Festo T and then into a DreamWorks vent fitting just forward of the wing on the lower fuselage centerline.
Note I removed the seam from the inlet transition duct and glassed over it with a couple of layers of cloth to make a neater installation well clear of the tanks.
Regards,
Paul

Hi Paul,
Nice install!!
Hey are those saddle tanks the standard size ones or the smaller version that I believe jet tech offer?
was the seam removal the only modification required to make them fit?
Paul.

Wow that is one seriously neat install Paul.
I actually started with my carbon (not actually carbon) electronic board cut out last night and realized I will do it a 3rd time after your pics. Man you did a neat Job. Well done and thank you for sharing!
I realized space is tarting to become a problem on this model :-)
On your jet tech tanks, do you have the 3/16 fittings or the 1/8? looks like the 1/8. I ordered mine with the 3/16 fittings, man those brass nipples are massive and the clunk from jet tech is even bigger. Seriously high quality stuff. I think the 3/16 fittings are a total over kill for a 14kg turbine, but lets hope these relieves all potential flame outs.

Yes, they are 1/8th fittings. Originally I ordered the 3/16" but agree they are huge. Needs 8mm fuel tubing. Unfortunately my first tank order package got smashed and destroyed every tank, so on the replacement set I changed them to 1/8th.
Note - Jettech replaced the destroyed tanks without question - great customer service.

Oh man! Must say Gary has been very help ful. As you can imagine I ordered all my tubing and mentally prepared my setup to be 4 and 6mm diameter piping. So when I recieved the tanks I was like...oops. So contacted Gary and he sorted me out very quickly. Some serious tubing I'm running in this model. The clunks are massive, looks like a bullet casing. The quality is next to none.

I dont think the saddle tanks needs to be attached heavily like that but obviously it doesnt hurt. They arent going anywhere with those wings on. and with the wings off you will be empty and only some little velcro will suffice to keep them from falling off. Havent had an issue yet

Fill is just a line with a fuel dot in the end thats it. I normally bend the line, unplug the fuel dot, hook up fuel jug, fuel away. Bend fuel line again when full and reinstall fuel dot. no air. havent had an issue since I replaced the rubber fuel tank stopper in the main tank. it was leaking there.
