RE: Mibo A-10 Build
I shall cover it in some nice old people's home flock wallpaper and patterned carpet for you...........you'll love it
OK, here's a 'gotcha' that you have a 50/50 chance of hitting. My luck clearly dictated I was going to get caught by it!!
I hinged and fitted the elevators and thought I'd see how they looked when everything was bolted to the fuselage but I found something rather odd. There was a big gap between elevator and fuselage on one side and the elevator hit the fuselage on the other!! Out came the ruler and the scratchy head
I thought at first the captive nuts in the fuselage were in the wrong place - moving them was impossible as they're built into carbon formers etc etc so I started panicking! I mailed Mibo and they phoned me to explain that one elevator is longer than the other slightly!!!!!! All I needed to do was swap the elevators around. Only down side to this was I had glued and screwed the elevator horns on so doing this put the horns on the underside of the elevators. So, Bogo sent me new horns to fit and I broke the others off.
All is well now and the tail section is looking quite familiar....

RE: Mibo A-10 Build
It's not a light but, like you say, I bet it looks good!
Mibo sent me their new A-10 Lighting system which looks great. All leads are pre cut to length and everything is labelled as to where it should go!

RE: Mibo A-10 Build
This lighting kit doesn't exist when I was buiding my , and I ordered my system to Detail4scale. I ordered too the cockpit opening mechanism and the decelerons.
I instantly return the decelerons because of the near-accident of an MiboA10 in the USA ( did you see the video on youtubes ?)
I took hundreds of pictures all along the buiding process of my Gen4 , so don't hesitate to request.
Yesterday I just finish to install the decals and today I 'll apply the matt lacker.
The LG system is really different of mine. With friends we bought 3 A10 together, and all the 6 LG mechanics have the same leak. I'll will try to find the youtube tutorial video to fix it.

Looking good and diiiiiiirty!!
I see you were as bored as me making miniature Playboy magazines! However, were you as bored as me and actually made separate pages
Got the HUD to sort out a few extra details left to add.

RE: Mibo A-10 Build
HELP! OK, struggling a bit tonight []
I'm having real problems getting the landing get pods in place and trimmed to fit. Before I go too far and make a costly mistake I thought I'd ask for some help from you guys that have done this step!
Firstly, can you measure distances X, Y and Z on your models?
Secondly, please can you also measure distance A (from the panel line on the wing to the panel line on the side of the pod)
Thirdly, can you tell me if the side of your pod is in line with line B or inside/outside of it??
And finally, can you post any pictures you have of the pod fitting on the top of the wing. If you can specifically catch the light on the mold lines like i have then I can see if I need to remove a lot more material or not!
THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!!

RE: Mibo A-10 Build
mine required that the LG nacelle be trimmed (dremeled from wing surface to top of flap hinge by the screw)) to allow the flap hinge to go into the nacelle a bit.
This leaves a recess in the LG nacelle but it is very hard to see with the plane assembled.
Will try to get you a picture.

RE: Mibo A-10 Build
I think the best way is to position correctly the landing gear mechanism, and fter that to proceed via small cut to find the correct position of the nacelle.

RE: Mibo A-10 Build
Mark,
Dave and Stan are correct in that you just have to keep trimming until the pod fits nicely with the wing and centers the landing gear properly. The pod also has to clear the raised landing gear mounts on the wing, which it just barely does. You obviously also want the pod parallel to the fuselage. With all these things in mind, the pod pretty much ends up where it needs to be.
It is my understanding that the Gen 4 wing/pods are the same as my Gen 3, so I assume the panel lines etc., are the same (but they could be different). I wasn't able to corrolate excactly the dimensions you were asking for but here are some pics of my pods. The distance from the pods to the fence (just outboard of the leading edge slats) is 1/4". The front of the pod slightly overlaps the panel line on the opposite side (outboard).
You can also see that I had to cut out a notch in the aft end of the pods to clear the flap hinge offsets. As Dave mentioned, this cutout is not visible from the top. Hope these pics help.
