Davie Matthews is the man to contact...he did a huge amount of work in developing a Bucc model I let him have moulds for...I believe he might have been developing a larger version too. Not sure if he still comes here regularly tho coz he's been doing other things for a while...find his name and email him...failing that, pm me your email and I'll fwd it on.

Dave Martin's original model flew really well with 2 Ramtechs. Loads of wing area. Jim Fox used to have the original Blackburn solid steel wind tunnel model in the back of his shop He had thought of taking a mold from it but I don't think it happened but nobody would have contested the scale outline. If this thread stays the course I will dig some video out of Dave's model if there is any interest, it was a built up structure. Ron.

Hi Ron,

Bit of history...Jim did take moulds off the wind tunnel model...I bought them, and the plug, from him as part of a job lot with the Foxjet stuff. I lent them to Dave Martin who took his Fuselage plus one for me and, I believe, an 'extra' one that still exists in Wales. I exchanged the lot with Davie Matthews for a big CAD job he did for me on a Gnat (still have the files too if anybody's interested!) and I am aware that Dave's put a whole lot of work into making the Bucc 'museum scale' quality. As with anything he does, when it's produced, it'll be top line!

I can see why a Fish Head would say that mate, but the RAF camo looked pretty good too.

Hi Guys, I have a buccaneer that I am willing to sell.
It is a on going project. Trying to get scale u/c in it so it shortens as I rotates, most parts made for this
Plugs for inlet ducts are made. Plug for fuel tanks made.
foam wing and tail.
Was designed for a p80
two canopies pulled
still lots of work to do but will make into a fantastic model.
size is 87" long about 65" wingspan
pm me if anyone is interested but is going to be in the region of £1000 to let it go. Pictures avaliable

Andy yes the navy did have bucs but a lot of them where flown by RAF pilots on detachment to start with.
A friend of mine was a rear on them and he has many stories. One thing I found great was that they had per-select on the gear so when the weight came off the wheels they travelled automatically. The gear could be going before it was 4ft off the ground is what we where told and I have seen some impressive photos of bucs leaving Gibraltar doing exactly this.
