I can assure it's not bull and the reasons for the delays have been genuine. I was at Southern Model Airshow at the weekend and many traders there had limited stock due to delays in shipping and clearance through customs. O had no models to present their, felt quite sorry for myself! I suppose I got to enjoy the show though.

Regarding the chap you met at Jetpower I will leave Henry to comment on his credentials.

As far as I am aware Mr Pollack is the only person who was at Jetpower who has a last few Tornados in stock.

We had a choice to make at ModellbauUK whether to air freight the kits and push the price significantly up or go via sea to keep the price down. We aim to bring good quality kits to the UK market from a reputable manafacturer in the US. Future models in development will take the market by storm and we propose to streamline the transport of these kits as best we can without pushing the price up anymore than they need to be.

I would like to thank everyone for their patience, this is a new venture for me and once the kits are in stock all new orders will be supported immediately with the delivery of a kits to your door.

Thanks again everyone for your patience.

Ian

Looking to keep the cost down and I am looking for used items. Anyone have some struts/wheels/brakes for sale yet?

Pollack was selling the "Tornado" and the people at the far end of the other tent were selling the "Jetcat 120" I can see where the confusion came from as they are difficult to tell them apart what with similar colour schemes, canopy colour etc.

hey a Kia and Toyota look alike but they dont handle the same in any aspect. As anybody that has flown both planes can tell you the Tornado blows it out of the water, but that really does not say much since that thing is really not made to be a turbine. There is a reason why the fold up in the air.

......... There is a reason why the fold up in the air.
and unfortunately there's a reason the Tornado jet folds up on the ground............the nose gear rails were cut too short (at least on mine) and don't extend into the forward former by 1.0MM therefore the only thing holding the forward part of the rail is the outer vainer of the plywood. my fault for not using an inspection mirror shoved up in the nose to check i guess.

the fact that this held up for 22 flights shows how easy she's been landed every time hence my frustration when the mains fell out.

KC I apologize for the issues you have had with your airplane. Unfortunately when you mass produce so many airplanes some do slip threw the cracks. The issues that the main gear has been fixed and will be further refined on the next airplanes that are coming in December. We are going to have all the servo's installed in side the wing and have gone to a single servo in the tail. Also we are going to reinforce the wing landing gear area with Carbon Fiber just like the hurricane.

Henry,
I was wondering about a single servo in the tail for the Elevator. I received my Tornado about two weeks ago and have not started yet on the build, it is the uncovered version. Do you plan on having an addendum to the instructions showing the single servo installation and if so what servo are you going to recommend (torque)? If this has been answered in earlier threads I apologize for the redundancy and thanks for reply.

It's all good Henry, it's a bit frustrating but when it comes right down to fixing the problem it's fairly simple and only took about 20 min. i've got the rails replaced and the retract reinstalled. took the main struts out, they are starting to deform at the forks, i'll go ahead and ship them back to Bill for the fix while i'm at it.

Still waiting. Paid for Tornado on Tuesday, told it would be next day, then told it would be Saturday. Still not got it. £35 ($55) carriage to travel 300 miles. I can phone up Motor & Rotors at 1500 and get my order 0900 next day. I hope you don’t think I am being hard on Modellbau UK but customer service has been very poor as far as I am concerned.

We don't build the carriage price into our model prices and only charge what we are charged.  I had 4 pallets arrive on  Monday, have checked all the boxes, and dispatched half the models. I apologise if any one is disappointed about receiving their models a little later than expected.  Turn around will be a whole lot quicker in future.  Those that have pre ordered have had to wait alot longer than I would have liked but at least we now have a stock of models in the UK.   Service can only be better.  Anyone who knows me know that I too value customer service in very high regard.

Ian
I am not complaining about the cost of shipping what I am peed off about is the fact that I spoke with you on Tuesday and you said it would be shipped same day or next day. I emailed you Friday and you said it would be Saturday. If you said to me at the time it would take a week or two weeks, to come no problem. What I don’t like is being told it is going to be shipped when in fact it’s not.

Point taken Bill. Early teething problems with couriers which is now sorted. Looking forward to see your build notes, photos & flight videos.

What weight are your Tornado's coming out at. I've got a K-80 in it and it's coming out at about 16 1/2 lbs dry on an old and not very accurate baby scale. The Specs say 14.3 lbs, but that's with a P-60.

I am confused about the the elevator. The manual states: "Elevator- 3/4 inch up
3/4 inch down
*** The elevator is neutral when the top of the elevator is flush with the top of the stabilizer****..."
Can someone clarify. Pictures would be great!!!

i've got an aft CG and my elevator neutral is neither flush with top or bottom, it's about mid ways of both. the bottom of the stab is flat, and the elevator sits about 1/8th inch high.

No problem David.

Dblex, the included extension kit sucked, none were the right lengths for an acceptable (IMO) installation so i just ran single extensions from each servo all the way to the receiver.
