The new Tornado sport jet
#3505
Has anyone outfitted their Tornado with Savox Servos? I have had good luck with them on my DV8R and might do this build with them as well. If so, please give me a list of what you used.
Thanks,
Mike

I always end up selling them people see how well they fly and start asking about it. When they find out I don't have 10k invested and that
you can get into this jet for about as much as a giant scale model, it just kinda sells it's self. They make a great beater jet so I'll always have one in my fleet.

I tried three methods on three different Tornados. The first was the standard method as advised in the manual, the second was the standard method but I split the elevator and the last was using JR 8411 installed in the middle of the horizontal stab and it is the one I am flying now. All worked great but if I were to do it all over again I would go with the split elevator for redundancy purposes. As for the rudder I always go with the standard method shown in the manual.

I thought I would post a few pics of how I laid out my "radio" compartment. The first level is servos and air. The second level is fuel and switches. Four screws and the second level is removed for access to the tank and first level. Receiver, Match Boxes, and regulators are velcro attached to the fuse in front of the tank.

I don't know if you have, because I can't see from your pic's too clearly, but its always a good idea to keep the fuel low and the electrics high so if you do get a fuel leak your electrics don't sit in it.

Hi All,
With about half tank of fuel my Tornado's main trailing links compress about halfway down is this normal or are the springs softer now? This is my second Tornado and my first one full of fuel barely compressed. Is there a stiffer spring available or a easy solution to fix what I have out there?
Thanks in Advance!

Retract Question: I have one main retract that has a fairly large air leak, the entire system will deploy the retracts due to loss of air pressure in about 8 minutes.
Not being familiar with spring air how and what would I look at? It isn't the lines, it is in the retract itself and no I haven't disassembled without asking first. I did email spring air about 3 weeks ago and never received a reply.
Thanks!!
Steve

Best thing to do for spring air repair is to mail it to Spring Air then give them a call. I sent an 101HD main that I have had 20 years that was leaking. He fixed it for free. It need a new o-ring. It is a great company to deal with.

I have stocks in the UK. Running a combo deal with JetsMunt VT80 and Ramtec Retracts (far better than the SpringAir retracts and cost roughly the same)
PM me if you would like further details
