Digitech new product need help
we are making a new turbine clamp for Jetcat engines (P-80-P-200).
now we came up with a new idea to make the clamp center to the fuselage.
since original clamps have a offset about 3-5 mm.
now our idea is to have :
turbine is centered
new clamps fit all jetcat engines WITH outside keroburner.(original mounts dont fit that well since the washer is a bit larger then the slots)
anodised in various colours.
Custom engraving.
Material 51ST
any more idea,s?

only problem i see :
shipping them out flat is very cheap. (envelope)
if i need to pre bend them into shape , the corners will show anodising "fatique"when coloured.
lot more on shipping
but then i can only laser engrave them when they are flat.
all questions..
what do you guys think?

Finally!!!!!
Have been waiting for this in a long time.
Last time I bought one from BVM....not very nice looking and with:Freight,VAT and custom,..... way too expensive!
I go for a flat, no problem bending it???? I hope.
Regards
/Pete

stronger? yes we can make them out of other sorts of alluminium , but is harder to anodise , colours are a bit darker.
we can make them a bit thicker then original.

Sandor, I think most folk would want them pre shaped and pay the extra postage, I know I would!

we could offer 2 versions instead , i think for the US it would be more interesting to see the shipping costs go down from 40 euro,s (pre bend) to 6 euro,s (flat).

Mmmmm.
Mmmmm.
shipping to the uk will stay the same.
problem is as all couriers they ask for Volume and weight.
with a Pre bend clamp you always need a box that is a Virtual 1 kilo package.
we can also ship to the uk for 6 euro,s in a envelope

RE: Digitech new product need help
Sandor,
One thing I would like to see is a small strip of hard rubber on the mounts. I found one of my P160's was slipping in the mount despite being very tight and I found putting a thin(0.5mm) strip of hard rubber on the inside of the mount solves the issue. It also had the added benefit that the turbine case isn't scratched or marked.
Geoff.

Hey Sandor,
Wow, very cool idea!!!
Is it not possible to anodize the clamps after bending so you haven't the fatique spots?
Bending it youre self looks like a challenging job without the correct tools?

problem is i cant engrave them if they are bend , simply because i dont have a 3 axis table for my laser.
so i can anodise them if they are bend , but not engrave them with a laser.
for bending you only need a Vice (bankschroef) , the round bit will settle itself.
Simjet you had to do always that bit yourself.

we got a bit hung up on the fact it takes to much work to cut out the wood that is needed to go.
also the servo,s we tested are to weak , and break easely , so for now we will stick with cables or pushrods.

same as the old flash
let me work it out first , since you need a behotec set C-36 to fit.
you can also ask Peter altecare he has the behotec sets.
