Default RE: High Voltage Receiver

Original Futaba R6014HS user manuel specify 4.8V to 6V (4 cells or 5 cells NiMh, or 2S lipo with voltageregulator at 5.5V).

It does not allow 8.4V directly.

Manual can be downloaded here : manuals.hobbico.com/fut/r6008hs-r6014hs-manual.pdf

Regards...

yes i know,
but the reason i'm askingis because of an accident happens to me..
i'm using one 7.2V lipo battery on my plane and my voltage regulator has failed when i open the switch but i didn't realize it immediately so the receiver keep working on 8.4V for about half an hour until finishing my work on plane!!
i realize it when i smell that something burned! And when i check the output of my regulator the polymeter says 8.36V!!!
The receiver still working just fine!!
That's why i'm asking!!

Don't worry! My one friend used Smart-Fly to supply his F-15 Jet for 2 years. He used 2S 7.4V Li-Po battery and he always though the Smart-Fly had regulator within it,but we confirmed that it didn't have the regulator later .Last month,he wanted to check the out put voltage at the end of extension wire.He got 8.3 V!! Of course,he is very shock!! [X(]He flied his F-15 under 8.3V for 2 years! His radio is JR 10X PCM and he changed to Futaba 14MZ this year. Therefore, these two radio could tolerate these high voltage, but ,of course,it is not recommended.
