Gonzalo and I put some flights on our A-10s yesterday. I now have 4 flights on my A-10 and I'm really enjoying the plane. The A-10 is very stable even in the 15-20mph wind we were flying in. Gonzalo and I got a chance to fly both A-10s together, which was just too much fun! I began incorporating aerobatics into my last flight and look forward to doing more on our next outing. One highlight for me was putting the A-10 into knife edge and realizing it can fly high alpha knife edge! It looks really freaking cool and it's a scale maneuver! On a sour note, my right fan broke just like Ron's. Hope to have a replacement from Skymaster soon. Here's a short video of our outing.

What a Fantastic day! despite of the high winds the A10’s performed exceptionally well! The formation flying was soo freaking cool! With Jack’s doing high alphas on the Raffle and Hans F16 was like attending and serious airshow!

I had a BLAST!

Gonzalo

Hi guys.. I just got a package from SM that contained two 1/4" carbon fiber rods about 10 inches long,
A bag of about 20 or so 1/4" x1/4" pieces of 1/8" plywood. A few small pieces of carbon fiber material
And a bag of about 20 or so tiny screws.... there were no instructions or a note telling me what this stuff
Was for? Did anyone get a similar package, and have any clue what this stuff is for? Thanks. Ron

Hi all,

What are you guys doing for the long servo extension runs? Are you guys making your own to length or buying and joining to one another to make length? What's recommended?

Thanks in advance!

I had Andy Low at ElectroDynamics make the long extensions for the elevators and rudders. He used larger gauge wire for the servo power leads. The extensions from the wings are JR extensions.

That video shows how well the SKYMASTER struts work. Looks like electric conversion of the gear. What mods did you do Mick?

Love the video Mick! I should put a camera on my A10 too! Also I noticed your landings with the air brakes on! Very cool but I haven't try that yet! Let's us know your experience on that.

Mike, I am glad you starting to enjoy the A10! Mine it's flying like a dream with the PB SRS!

Very soon Best in the West will be here and I can't wait to do more A10 formation flights with the A10s crew!

Hi All,

Is anyone using the Tam pipes on their A-10? I purchased a set from him and I will be using twin KT 140's. When I install the turbine and the pipes with proper exhaust clearance, the pipes stick out to far to use the scale cones. Any ideas on fixes? Is the length of these pipes of any importance? Can't get Tam on the phone to figure out other options/

Any info would greatly be appreciated!

Thanks in Advance!!!

Jetfan 20,

I am using Tam pipes with JC Cheetahs in my SM A-10 and had to shorten the pipes to use them with the scale cones. Simply remove the bell mouth, cut off excess material from the front of the pipe and re-install the bell mouth. I used sharp tin snips to cut the stainless pipe. The distance between the tail cone and the bell mouth entrance will be whatever KingTech recommends.
