Holy Crap Pete , Hamburg In October is going to be like an A 10 Squadron. Scott and I are both flying Mibo's and Mike and Dave will be flying skymaster's plus Walt and I are both going to be working on new Gen 5 mibos for next season. Maybe we can get the guy from Browns Tavern to shoot some video of all 7 of us flying formation.

Love to see your build progress. I know there are some great build threads on this plane, maybe another one would coax me to get it out of the rafters!

Hi pilots.
i m working on my A-10 in Sweden now :-)
how match deflextion do you use on elevator and ailrons?
Manual says aileron 40mm. Is it 20 up and 20 down on aileron trailing edge?
elevator up and down?

Got mine finally. Only one thing broken and that was from customs. But Doug is sending me a new one. This picture is just a mockup of it before I dove into it starting to put my equipment into it.

Does anyone know if the G2 air frame with gear is lighter than the 29lb reported in post 1?

Thx in advance for any input

G2 weighs less and has a different design for the nacelles.

The Kingtech 80 has less power than the Jetcat 80.

I test flew this one last weekend with 2 x P-140RX and I'd say that's a good power choice.

The maths are simple, the power is less than half the weight of the model.

Starting at Post #454 in this thread there is a lot of talk and some cool videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZqt...ature=youtu.be of Mark Hinton int he UK flying the Gen 1 SM A-10 with a pair of P-100's (way more power than the K80). From my perspective on looking at the videos it looks really sweet with those engines, but he later on he swapped in some larger engines.

Sort of true, he flew it two or perhaps three times with the 100's but soon replaced them with 140's.

There is so much rubbish spouted about models being over powered, particularly in the case of something like an A10 you need raw power to fly any where near to scale performance.

I had two Evo 160's in my first one and was just able to perform scale manoeuvres with it. Ok if you just want to poodle about then 100's are fine but if you want to emulate the FS you need grunt.

Watch the attached video and make your own mind up the A10 has massive power from those two turbofan engines and it shows.

I third going with more powerful motors. My first A-10 had P120s and that's as small as I would go if you want to immulate the full scale plane. Mick is spot on about needing the extra power for aerobatic maneuvers. Mine never felt "over powered". My current A-10 is getting a pair of 160s. I spoke to Mark Hinton about his A-10 and he said the 100s were underpowered for his taste.
