Number 3 gets 2 x 210s? I can't wait for #4 with 2 x BF-300s - the new supersonic A-10

Mick, is that the Mibo or skymaster. Did you have to add a considerable amount of lead in the nose with the 210's? Love your hydraulic gear!

Here is a video of my GEN1 A-10, I am using two Jet Central Cheetahs for power, more than enough power for this jet.
Also take into account that if you want to use all the missiles and bombs on the A-10 the extra power will be very much welcome.
I agree with the rest here, the KT80 I think is a little low for this jet.

There is so much rubbish spouted about models being over powered, particularly in the case of something like an A10 you need raw power to fly any where near to scale performance.

I had two Evo 160's in my first one and was just able to perform scale manoeuvres with it. Ok if you just want to poodle about then 100's are fine but if you want to emulate the FS you need grunt.

Watch the attached video and make your own mind up the A10 has massive power from those two turbofan engines and it shows.

Greg's bird flew nice with the P80s,

Talked to him and he didn't have to keep it pegged either... said it clocked at 120mph little over half throttle... nice enough for this show stoppah

I've also seen a MIBO fly nice (meaning all the scale maneuvers can be done with ease) with 2 P70s

I do agree with full armament it'd need a little more get gone

My ATJ 140SV is test mounted in power pod.
it feels good.
Do you mount the ECU in the pod to?
My idea is to have everything in the pod, like a complete module.
Easy to take away from fuselage.

I'm sure it flew fine straight and level. I'd like to know how the vertical was with the 80s. Even with P-120s, my A-10 had "just enough" power to climb with authority like the full scale hog.

I'm building the smaller version, but one this holds true regardless of size, for everything you put in the back you will need to have something in the front to balance it. While putting everything for the engines in the back might make for a neater installation, will you be able to balance that weight by the components in the front, or will you have to add weight to achieve your CG? My big concern on my smaller version is not how the plane will handle any extra weight in the air, but how much it will affect the landing gear and alike when I land. I don't know about you, but not all of my landings are perfect and the extra pounds in the nose to balance the plane might be the difference between no damage and breaking parts.

Thank you for the pictures..... looks nice. But what I was looking for is how the canopy opens and closes. Thank you again for the help.

The canopy opens and closes based on an air valve that you'll need to buy and install. The kit includes a cylinder to open and close the canopy. What specifically do you need help with?

I did it a little bit different, air valv to lock function, and oil shock for slow and smooth opening of canopy

I understand that you put in bigger turbines, its a hi drag heavy plane.
my ATJ works great, but maybe is it time to upgrade to bigger sice.....
working on improving the grass field take off now, the main wheel is to fare back, and that putt a lott of load on nos wheel :-(
Adding conical pad now between landing gear and mount-plate, geting better and better :-)
low air pressure in man ger suspension and hi pressure in nos wheel suspension is improving the takeoff to :-)
in my way of how this plane shall preform..........

Hey guys, was wondering if someone could help me out. What servo arms are people using for the elevators, flaps, ailerons and the speed brakes? Thanks

I may have used a different arm on the decelerons.

Steven,

Same as Dantley, I've used SWB but the rudders are 1.5" and the flaps are 2" in order to get full throw. I do not use the decelerons so I can't help you there.

Thanks guys for the answers. I have another question. My new A-10 is going to be here within a week or two and i have kingtech 160s to put in it. Are the new A-10s beefed up from the factory? I remember when they first came out there were a few issues with the horizontal stab and possibly the nacelles departing the aircraft. Thanks

Stab issue has been resolved, but still worth examining and determining if you want to reinforce them. Nacelle's are a new design. I haven't heard of any problems.

Hey everyone, I have been looking at pictures of a bunch of peoples A-10s. How do you tell the difference between the Gen 1 and the newer Gen 2?

I've started painting the ordinance, still need to clear. I wouldn't call it fun. The A-10 has to have all this stuff hanging off of it! The nomenclature set I have doesn't take into account that there are 1800 different versions of the sidewinder! LOL I took a little artistic liberty on which decals I used...

Hey guys, I guess I used to have the version 1. Cause my new one is definitely a version 2. The nacelles are split and a few more odds and ends. But I have a question on the nacelles. How do you secure them to the fuselage? I have been beating myself up about it. Thanks
