I was able to fly mine this weekend at bowling green Kentucky. 4 flights and all went well except for a couple of off runway landings excursions. lol. It does have a tendency to " Wheelbarrow" with brakes, linked to down elevator. So they are now on the side. weight , 23.5 lbs, Jetcat P-80SE, cg 10 mm behind wing tube . next flights cg will be moved back another 10 mm

Sean,
good to hear from you it was a pleasure to meet you at Kentucky jets last month. The Futura flys great and looking forward to flying it more. Remember if you need tires, I'm the guy with the mold lol. My color scheme is temporary vinyl. I may paint this winter. I love the scheme on yours
I'll check out your video.
Cheers

After all remaidened my Futura last week, now with the P90RXi and winglets and had 4 flights on it. Power enough and some good landings, just have to optimize some trims and thrust angle.

Lots of good information. So you think it has enough thrust with the P90RXI. I'm going to order a Futura 1.9 next March

I think you will find the p90RXi has more than adequate power. I fly with a P-80 SE and I found that after about 3/4 throttle there is very little increase in speed. The Futura is touted as a constant speed airframe and is designed to not be a speed demon, especially on the down lines. Granted it does not have " out of site" vertical performance but I can't see that far anyway. I considered putting my P-100 in it, but after several flights I found the p-80 to be perfect, and the airframe can easily handle the physically larger p-80. The 100 would get lost in the cavernous fuselage. lol
Best of luck

I'm also going to use the PowerBox Royal SRS with the igyro and the new power bus system. I will use either JR or Savox servos. I think I will use my Spektrum DX18QQ so I can use the JetCat Telemetry......or should I use my Futaba 14MZ?????

Well, I guess I'm late to this game. My 1.9 Futura just arrived and all the advise on this thread will be extremely helpful. Hopefully some are still monitoring. I plan to use the K120. What I've read I think this will be plenty of power but not over powered.

I think you will find the K120 will be more than adequate and I know you will enjoy the Futura. I have added a demon gyro to mine just to gain some experience with Gyros, something you might consider later on.
The model does not need a gyro but it does smooth things out in windy conditions.
Keep us up to date as you start the build.

thanks for the insight Shepp and RickyBoy.. I'm definitely going to have questions. I guess my first question is I found it odd that Tomahawk would send my Futura 1.9 with a decal for the JetCat P160 SX. I took the basic manufacturer design and, although it looks nice on the tail, I wasn't sure if it was a hint to add a P160. Or maybe just a marketing effort??
