Chris

CA or silicon sealer. The tailpipe to cool ring has them glued to the cool ring only, with the tailpipe a slide fit to the required distance for cooling 5-6mm. On the two Habu I have done, I glued the cool tube/ fuselage spacers to the fuselage with CA and used two small drops to hold the cool tube in position. I can remove the tailplane halves without taking the tail pipe out, a long 2.5mm ball driver goes between the two tubes

Do up your nuts

We flew mine today and had a very lucky escape as I had forgotton to do up the lock nuts on the control rod push rods. On landing one aileron was completly disconnected. Curiously this was not noticed in flight.

They are now all tight with a little dab of cyno on each

Turbines don't vibrate...
Don't use nuts. Just thin CA which wicks down and fills the thread, locks the rod and takes out the play.
Simon and Colin were out today playing Habu 32T's Left mine at home to concentrate on Torus practice...tomorrow is another day though

You think something running at 245,000 would last out of balance? Other than airframe pulsing there is nothing...and anyway you knew what I meant verses IC DF or EDF.

Think the 'Europe' thing came from the Heinekenesque comment about Europes most popular Habu 32 conversion - creative yes but don't work in a corporate marketing department (not that you would want to), you might not last long with unsupported sweeping statements like that
Even Heineken added 'Probably'.................

Whoops sorry for my mistake............ It wasnt Europes most experienced P20 dealer he went slightly bigger than that M and R claimed to be the Worlds most experienced P20 dealer....... Now I ask you who can defend quite such a ludicrous claim as that.

See the last page in RCJI June/July............. So my comment was not so much unsupported as understated............

I am sure however DW belives he is right though

Funny, missed that. We don't sell in the USA and I don't know how many sets Tams have sold. I've run ten different P-20's and have something over 120 flights on them...anyone else?

Anyway, a text last night asked for a test flight on another M&R conversion, so 7.00am meeting with Andy at PMFC and a trimming flight by me, followed by Andy's first flight for my camera.

Dave, I've been looking for the IRL rpm and EGT of the P-20 at WOT without finding any numbers. Maybe you want to share the info :-)

Which is the maximun RPM limit of the Jetronic fadec? same 250000rpm as the Gaspar one?

thanks.

EGT during start spikes around 900 degrees and idle 480ish WOT 615-620 on most of my installations.
Max RPM is above 250,000 but I don't know what it is...and Gaspar's is too, my original T-32 is set to 254,000...

My T-32 was the very first #1 and the very early supplied ECU unit allowed 255,000. The early engines were much less powerful, mine is 1.2kp so needed a high RPM, Martin asked me not to run it past 248,000 normally with the hand produced turbine wheel.

Regards

Dave

I think Martin locks the ECU to a certain max, mine is 241000rpm. But the Gaspar manual states 250000rpm max. I know I can hook it up to the computer and unlock it(warranty void ofcause), but I did't know that we could exceed 250krpm :-)

Biggest issue appears to be the proof reader's abilities - should have read "...world's most experienced" [8D]

That was sort of my point on post 209 above ................ Worlds most experienced hey...... I wonder what evidence there is for such a claim ...... Still it must be correct cos its in the Jet mag

Dennis,

I do not usually get involved in stone throwing but your just a pain in the arse.

Do you have nothing better to do? From your post a few months ago i thought you would have - how are your 500 staff etc etc etc - for such a BIG BOY you seem to have a lot of time on your hands.

If you have nothing nice to say it is usually best to say nothing at all and by all accounts - empty vessels usually speak the most!

Love always

your number 1 fan
