Yup....the Sapac wheels are nice but I don't believe there is an option for brakes. The MPI wheels and brakes are the ticket or possibly the BVM light weight wheels and brakes

All four wing servos have to be mounted on the cover plates. I'm never keen on the joint between end grain hard would and ply so I rough up both to help key in a good bond.

They are available in the UK under the Top Gun brand...thought they were the same. Or GBRJet is obviously making some...

I am assembling a Sapac/Topgun L39 for the P20 and this is the undercarraige system supplied for it. Retract units, legs and wheel brakes.

Paul

Funny, wife's birthday this weekend[] I'm on suicide watch
The little bits like fitting servo blocks on wing hatches took a time and the wing mods for larger wheels. Will be done when its done.

Ok. Near completed wings.
The clevis ends need a squeeze to get them closed properly.
String is supplied to pull through cables.
Flap horn angle change works a treat.

Hanging the wings on to check what nose leg length I need. Sit is good with the 2" wheels.
Also as Ali pointed out the wings have some movement, but this is all in the existing two pegs-the fuselage holes are over sized, so I'll sleeve them.

During a few spare moments, I have painted the wood tray and made the rear tail pipe support former. Also had the tank pressurised all day and a dunk in the sink shows zero bubbles. Result. Double result Mrs W has decided after her party to take the girls to France for the HT week, so I can crack on, with William as coffee provider[8D]

Hi Dave,
Just wondering, looks like you just recieved your HABU 32 few days ago.(2-15) which would mean yours was part of the first shipment which was just recieved. I have had an order in since last November and I just called them on the status and I was told the first shipment has had issues at the factory and its delayed till end of next month? Are you a dealer and get preference on the shipments? It seems to me they are not being totally truthfull.

thanks

No, the UK's dealer delivery won't arrive till March either, this was a kit flown over especially for me. I was promised one last year and that never made it. It is normal to get some flown in for magazines, press and sponsored pilots (as Ali). I just have a good relationship with Horizon and have always helped promote items. The idea of this kit was to allow another conversion to be done and everyone know what to do before the main batch arrives. Modellers being big kids, I have already had quite a few people buy the other parts required to do the Habu 32 (both EDF and Turbine) so all they need is the kit.

OK, Mrs W and girls off to the flat in France, so back to the build.
Overflow fitted, carbon rod is sitting flat on the fuselage botton to show clearance if a gear up landing is required.
Flat ground on leg for wheel, always grind these short of the end.

Guys, I may have missed it but what are y'all using for wheels and brakes? I believe the AMA requires the use of them here in the states. Something that isn't too heavy. Me thinks maybe the MPI aluminum wheels and brakes that Tam sells? I had them on a 1/12 F-16 so I think they would work well??

Thx

Spence
In Europe we don't have the same rule. Tams or possibly Sepac wheels are brakes might work for you.

Dave
With these small mplanes it seems sensible that the AMA look at relaxing these rules...... Havn't you als got to have a rudder, I know the Bu has one?

Wings were completely finished last night, decided to paint the wheel wells duck egg blue

Legs are nice and stiff, so don't think they will bend.

Rudder servo (JR 362) in with cut down Super servo arm) I didn't look at the horn alignment before I bonded in the control horn and it does not line up on my kit. The horn is large and rigid, so I used a Graupner ball-link. Cover in place and detail of wing fixing screws. You'll need a 9/64 ball driver
