Hey kevin
you think Don would be interested in painting / riveting two Hornets at the same time? pretty simple low vis grey colors.

You gonna put a man motor in it or scuba style?

good luck with the build. I'm sure it will be stunning.
If Don gets bored and wants another painting / riveting project, i'll be happy to send him mine also. After Tucson it'll be sitting for a few months anyway.
cheers

that's a good looking bird!!!!
btw, mine weighs 40lbs bone dry (no fuel, no extra lead) final CG will determine how much if any lead i'll need to add. Dan Massey just stopped by and helped me weigh it and do the initial balance. we're thinking it'll need between 3-6 oz. I believe a full UAT will do the trick but I might carry a lil bit of lead anyway.
good to hear Don is going to help ya out. he puts out some great looking airplanes.

LOL
I think it's from the extra kevlar / CF etc. I added throughout the plane. (peace of mind)
my first one weighed 32.5 lbs dry flew super nice. I'm sure it'll be fine, heck the SWB F18 (big red one) the AMT Pink Panther and Smokin Joe's Red/White one were a bit heavier and were a joy to watch.
I only hope Kevin doesn't do the Green chicken "chippy Ho" scheme.

Thomas you should get the one that was for sale out in california. the one that kevin barr put together a few years ago. it's not listed anymore but I have an email and poc if you're interested. it was listed at a great price, IMO
I was ready to pull the trigger and add it to my collection, but life has interrupted those plans. I plan to keep one of these birds in the hanger from now on and i'm glad I finally pushed through the last bit to finish mine.
last time I worked on it was 2008, if only I had known it was just a mere 21 days of dedicated work remaining.
i'll let ya know how your tires hold up.
cheers
