Bandit ARF+Recommended Servos with A123
Hey Guys,
I've searched this forum and found very little on my question. I will be using the recommended servos except for the retract/brake valve servos since they are not available anymore. Instead I am using the JR sport MC35 servos which are now on the bandit arf mkII servo list. Has anybody used A123 with the recommended servos with no regulator and will all the servos be fine including the mc35'.
Thanks for any help in advance,
Mike

We have replaced the now discontinued JR 351 and replaced it with a JR Sport MC 35 for the Smooth Stop II brake valve and the BVM High Flow landing gear valve.
A less expensive sport servo works well in this type of application.
If you have noticed, we also specify a voltage regulator. It's a good idea.
Not everybody uses A123 batteries.
Should you choose to power the remaining servos at full voltage, the Spektrum VR 5203 is a neat small dual output voltage regulator that puts out 5.2 volts to one or two servos.
Street price is $29.95

RE: Bandit ARF+Recommended Servos with A123
Yes, i have.
I have had absolutely no problems using A123 batteries, and any servo i have in hand to fly Flash, Bandits, and Bobcats. Their voltage is less than Lipo, and the batteries are not only safer from a standpoint of fire hazzard, but take a lot of charge cycle abuse. I charge them with a 4S Cellpro, balanced, and connect them directly to a JR 1222 reciever with Deans plugs. The smart switch is much like the SmartFly, and turns both batteries on and off at the same time. No regulator, one switch, batteries not affected by each other. I just wish Futaba had a 50 amp connection to batteries like this. I have both Futaba and JR, but this reciever is why i use JR for Jets. And im not going back to Lipo or Nimh.

RE: Bandit ARF+Recommended Servos with A123
I have a bandit arf with all recommended servos using a123's and a Smart Fly Batshare. This combo is working perfect for me, btw, the Batshare is diode protection for the dual batteries, it has a .4-.5 voltage drop because of the diode. So my rx gets 6.1 volts not 6.6.
