Default Jet Central Turbines / DTE lite oil

Many have inquired as to our approval to use Mobil DTE lite turbine oil. We approved this for use several months ago. Many have said this oil is more user friendly, less toxic to us and the environment. We agree !

On going testing of DTE lite by Jet Central at our manufacturing facility has shown this to be a great product. However, we found if used at the rate of 2.5% as we recommend with all our turbines, we detected some bearing noise during the cool down cycle. This observation was not turbine specific. We have experienced no bearing failure nor have any been reported to us.

Therefore, we maintain our approval of Mobil DTE lite for use in Jet Central turbnes at the rate of 5%. . . or one quart to 5 gallons of kerosene or Jet A fuel. Please note this change.

If you have been using DTE lite at the 2.5% mixture ratio please change to the 5% ratio. Lifetime Warranty still applies with no exclusions for coverage.

Thank you,
Eric

Thanks for the update.

Eric what is the total weight (all components) of the Chettah? Do you know if you are going to Mississppi Afterburner?

dos007:

Complete all up weight of install parts for BeeII, Rabbit, Cheetah, Rhino is: 9oz. Plus supplied Duralite 7.4 LiManganese @ 9oz. Total all up weight is 18oz. Battery may be subtituted with owners personal choice 7.4V 2s2p 30c rated battery if preferred.
Cheetah kero start weighs 3lb 1 oz complete with starter.

MAB? I have scheduled it, however it all depends on my wife's mobility (she is remaining home) after her nasty accident at FJ11.

Yes, 5% is Bee, Super Bee and BeeII if using Mobil DTE lite. If operatiing our turbo Prop, the oil mix is 5% regardless of your choice of approved oils.

Thanks for the questions.

What differs a turbine running on diffrent oils? what prevents you from useing 2stroke oil for example? I know some turbines are allowed to use that sort of oil.
