The 8/24 start date works for me. Dave Elsinger(DAVAL) and I would be ready to burn some Kero.......I attended Minny Jets #1 and had a great time.
I think we could add 2 or 3 more from WI with just a little persuasion......

Ok, just waiting to hear back from the airport manager...
Sounds like we will move it back a week.
We are looking forward to a great event and to sharing this great location with everyone who can make the trip. Fortunatley for those coming from WI, the trip is even shorter than going to the SMMAC events by at least an hour!

Well we have the option for the airport the week later.
So we can move it to 8/24-28. So let's hear who is IN so I can make some preliminary arrangements.
The only thing you have to do is bring fuel and fly safely!

A week later, 8/24-28 and will be there along with a couple of other new Jet pilots.
Tim is having a funfly at the Owatonna field on Memorial Day for all those that are interested. I was planning on bring my Large F-16 and maybe my F-86. Hope to see some of you there!

I will be there an I just started calling some of the other Local members to see how many will be able to make it.
I am sure that besides Tom A & myself that we will be able to bring 2 or 3 more along.

OK sounds good.
That gives us about 12-15 pilots so far, we have room for more if you want to make the trip!
If you look at the aerial shot a few posts above you can see that we pit to the right of the runway, closer to the taxi ramp. To the right is West, So we have a little sun in the AM and then about 8-9 hours of sun behind us.

These are a few of the closer options...a few of the guys have stayed at one or two of them and may chime in as to rating.
There are hotels in Winona as well but this is about 25 min ride each way.
Camping is ok at the field although we try to take it easy on the plumbing with port-a-lavs...
Sweet Dreams B&B about 1 and 1/2 miles from the airport (507-864-2462), or
Meadows Inn B&B in Rushford (I've heard it's very nice but maybe pricey?, 507-864-2378),
or Wenneson Hotel/Historic Inn B&B in Peterson (507-875-2587).
Food in town is Subway, Pizza and Ice cream place, Grocery Store, Stumpys (dinner there Friday nigth usually) and another sports bar.
We will have dinner at Field Sat night - BBQ.

There are no large motels in Rushford. Winona is the next spot for hotels but there are many B and B type places in Rushford/Peterson/Lanesboro.
If any of you may be bringing a sig other, they might find a day trip to lanesboro fun. The Root River area is a pretty area with small shops etc.
I will be making arrangements for tents/portalavs in the next week or two. If anyone wants a tent other then BYO, let me know.

This is Derrick from Louisiana. My family and I were planning on comming again.....What are the dates again. It was a blast Last year.
So are you still working on your Ultra Bandit?
I am working on a one of a kind Ultra Lightning with a P-200sx. I should have it done in a couple of weeks. It will have a custom paint job.
Are going to put a P-200sx in your Ultra Bandit.
Do you know about the new Evo Jet Engines???? They make a 180VX....same weight and size as a P160 but 40 plus pounds of thrust. Was seriously thinking of using that engine.
Anyway.....if the dates are right we should be able to make it this year.
P.S. I still have my T28 which I ran into your Habu last year....its all patched up....LOL.

Hope you can make it again, I know it is a long trip for you.
The UB is almost done -200SX under the hood. Sounds like we might have some hill climbing to do together.
