Mate, I have used them since 1997 without any problem - but always before the pump. I own and flying 9 different AMT engines. However, since I have also started using CAT's, I could be convinced not to use filters whatsoever.

So what happened to the filter? Did it split? Can't tell by the picture.

I had one of these fail on a ground start in the same way. I take epoxy and put a bead around the seam.. never had a problem since and have been using in all my jets for the past 10 years. Great filter, because you can see fuel, dirt, and air bubbles.

I don't use them. They look to cheesy to put in a multi thousand dollar aircraft. The metal ones are much better. Doesn't matter of the brand.

"Nip up"? What does that mean? Re-tighten? Haven't heard that here in Kentucky.

well shoot.... I count 13 of these.... 5 still in packaging mine were all setup after the pumpt as trap any metal coming form the pump that could get caught in the solenoid and mess it up, that is what all the local jet guys said to do as metal shavings from the pump are what cause the solenoid to go bad.

but I haven't had a failure, even on a P-240 ran strong and fine without issue. I am using diesel w/ KT oil @ 5%

Festo plastic filters should never be used in a pressure system as they are used only in a zero pressure as they were designed for a vacuum environment.. check the factory specs.
