Joinville 2011 Manecojets
We had a great weekend here in Brazil .. Our good friend and flying bud Manoel again organized with the cooperation of the Aerocircus R/C club of Joinville a jet gathering with many great pilots, builders and talented modelers and it was extraordinary. The enthusiasm of the organizers of this event was impressive too as they applied many hours of hard work just to take care of all the Brazilian jet modelers from all corners of the country and international guests in the best possible way and also with excenllent weather they had a great time in this place.
I was privileged to witness this having a great time too, even considering a big mishap with my stuff, but more on that later. let me show you some pics I took there as I guess you may find them interesting.
Some pics of the box area: The trusty and old Roo and the ill-fated Viperjet / Hugo and William from Brasilia and their creation giant sport jet.P-200 powered.

Another jet from Brasilia, in my opinion the fastest jet at the event. This F-20 inspired jet was created by Vigberto Tartucci as a sport jet who looked like a real jet but without any compromise from scale wich may detract performance like full flying elevators. This plane disassembles in half easily for transportation and had a bunch of great ideas wich where talked in another jet event two years ago while eating a pizza at Vigberto´s home. Vigberto´s son flew it as it was no tomorrow and what a view looking it with the afterburned leds turned on with smoke going straight up out of sight!

David Shulman was one of the guests, and it made a spectacular demonstration of his flying skills. It was amazing to see him flying, not at all about the low and fast stuff, but how he interacted with the flying site while smooth flying his plane, and how he managed to do it safely.. a great guy to chat with, too. His Turbinator is a great airplane for anyone interested in starting flying jets, or for the pros who may want something easy and relaxing to fly with very good agility and short field operations capability.

From Kaminski and Fabricio a new giant project after his T-33. A Mammoth Mig-29 for two Jet central Mammoth engines. All done in plywood, balsa and expanded polyurethane foam. They didn´t finished the airplane yet but it will soon be test flown in this great place.

about my mishap, well... I unfortunately mid-aired the big Viper with Padua´s Ultra Lightning, while doing a racetrack pattern at the runway heading. Padua´s was about to doing a slow, flapped smoke pass over the runway and both pilots hadn´t had the sight of each other. By very bad luck both aircraft collided, and crashed. None catched fire but the blow was hard as both airplanes where brand new.
The good part of this is that both pilots where flying in a disciplined way and the planes crashed in a safe area, and as Padua´s is a gentleman too we exchanged apologies.
I don´t drink or smoke, but right after this I started to think about it. [] Fortunately the flying the Kangaroo after this gave me the boost I needed.
Ary figueira has a espectacular pic of both airplanes falling and he soon will post it in his site, www.figueira.ms wich is a excellent place to see more pics of this event, I will post it after he make it available.
My airplane wasn´t a total write-off but is in very bad shape.. lot´s of work to put this baby back on the air, if possible at all.
