Marc,

Do you recommend the filler being at the top or the bottom when positioning the CAT? Reason I ask is because I find when it is at the top and I use it to de-fuel, then there is always fuel remaining in the CAT.

Top generally as this allows you to reverse the fill pump to draw out any air after filling. I have never drained my CAT, always leave it full, its been this way for the last 4 years and the filter is designed to be immersed in fuel.

Marc,

I have repeatedly tried to purchase items from your website, but paypal continually keeps bumping me back because it does not like the address your website is giving it.

How can I get the items you are selling?

I have mine at the top on both fuel and smoke. I really like them a lot because they don't collapse like the older style.

It's really simple man, just like a UAT...this is right off of dreamworks website

Each CAT is pressure tested to 40psi prior to dispatch, and all assembly is done using high quality Hysol 9462 epoxy. Resins and glass cloth are West Systems.

Depending on the CAT size there are three barb fittings on the front face, one in the centre which is the output to the pump, one at around 11o/c which is the fuel in supply from the main tank(s), and a smaller third fitting which is the system fuel fill - this fitting is designed to be smaller than the others to help prevent over pressure during the fill sequence helping to prevent damage to the main tanks.

CAT's can be mounted in almost any orientation, care must however be taken to ensure the two fittings on the outer edge of the front face are in the uppermost position so any air can be removed via the fill line - unless the CAT is positioned vertically when this is not a requirement.

I have to admit to being a bit lapse when it comes to updating as to which models have a GBRJET CAT fitted. A quick count shows that 5 jets of my own and 4 that we built for customers. All of them worked as previous models over previous years.. Perfectly. Just today I had a fresh delivery of CAT's and the awesome Mag Lock fittings from Marc for some of new 2015 jets. Anyone that has had anything from GBRJET will testify to the quality. Marc's attention to detail and perfectionism shines through with whatever he produces! Thanks Marc !

Hi,

The v1 and v2 versions were very time consuming to make and the balance point of cost verses selling price was not economical to pursue, saying that I am looking to re-design the TT800 and incorporate a few new materials I am currently testing that should make the product viable to manufacture again. I'm not expecting to get to it until early 2016 but I will offer one again if all the tests work out as expected.

Gave up with them long time ago - crap quality. Kept on breaking after a few months of use. All the people I know that own the same have theirs broken. They all brake.

Just use cable ties to tie them in place and it's all good and for ever.

Anyone who contacts me via PM or my website can have replacement rubber O rings FOC, yes they do perish and fail but hey they are cents to replace and I'm happy to send them out, don't even charge for the postage!

The quality is not 'crap' Tassos, they are however O rings and as such are designed mainly for compression to form seals and not as an elastic band, when I was looking for a simple easy to use system which allowed the user to simply remove the tanks these were the closest thing I could find. I rub some vaseline over mine before applying and the ones in my jet have been in there for two years.

Just check them regularly like everyone should do with any critical component in a model jet.

You don't want to go there Mate, check your email since 11 Dec 2016.... no answer from you for.....hmmmmm let's see...... 1 year, 10 months, 11 days...

Anyway, as I said, don't worry about it, I found the solution with cable ties.

All the best
