I just finished reading the last couple of post about the mounting rails for the turbine. I scratch built the Ziroli version and I am powering it with a P-80SE. I lowered the aft end of the rails 1/4" during the build and I don't notice any pitch up when going from idle to full throttle. I understand that the Shulman version might already have the rails lowered, but I didn't have a chance to look at one.....

The "old" Shulman ARF did not have the rails lowered, not sure about the new G2.

Just finished my Gen2. Dry weight was 24lbs until I had to add 4lbs to balance at 7". Using RXI90 which is part of problem. Having pump, filter and valves makes for clean install but adds weight to turbine. How conservative is 7"? Anybody move their cg further back?

Another question for you Gen2 guys. Has anyone opened any holes on the motor cover plate to help cooling? Seems like it would reduce running temp.

I'm not exactly sure what a Gen 2 is, but on my Turbinator from Boomerang-RC, I opened up the motor cover plate quite a bit due the fact that I have a JetCentral Cheetah (35lb thrust) mounted back there!
(Yes, more thrust than needed, but the turbine was purchased for a Krill Avanti and ended up in the Turbinator first)
No issues modifying the cover plate.

I would try to avoid opening up any holes in the bottom of the fuse. Turbines are very strong vacuum cleaners and will do a good job picking up anything loose on the runway (paved or grass) and most of it is too small for the FOD screen to stop.

Hey guys.

I got the orange/white SA Turbinator.
What color orange is it.
Looking at monokote, they have an orange and neon orange available.
Any replies would be great,
Oh and I love my Turbinator, give it the regular treatment and goes hard with the JC rabbit.

Thx Mario.

Guys, I'm looking for a right wing for a friend's Turbinator. Any one has one? even a broken one will do. Color scheme doesn't matter.
