For me personally, only if I use a metal arm w/ "good" bolt-on ball links; and never with plastic arms.

What is wrong with the clevis set-up you showed? That's how mine is, and I have had no problems.

Absolutely nothing wrong. Just looking for feedback. I lost a really nice corsair when one popped off the elevator. It was a single servo elevator and they were plastic and not metal. This is what came with the ARF and I was feeling out how many kept using them.

Thanks for the feedback

Yeah, would definitely not trust a plastic clevis. The only thing I suggest with the metal one in the kit, use tubing or heat shrink over them.

I had one flap clevis pop out on the maiden as I slowly started feeding flap in. Luckily it wasn't on landing, as I was high to see how the plane would perform at full flap. The plane turn sharply and headed for the ground when it popped out. I pulled the flap/s up as I was going down, kept "flying" the plane, applied a little power and pulled out about 5' above the ground. After I landed, one flap was just "dangling". FREE airplane now!!

I will install servo box in each tail surface. I hope the weight not would've a problem in the tail.😅
Don't forget to buy a special Turbinator tank in 3L or 2,6L from Cmjets. 😁
Best regards from Spain.

Anybody know if Dreamworks is going to keep this Arf? My buddy, Marshal, an I got the last two they had. There was talk about them redesigning it to fit into a smaller shipping box. I damaged my left wing 2 weeks ago. Looking for a replacement or even another kit...

So I have the red/yellow/black, and I need some yellow to do a FedEx repair. Emailed Shulman and Don replied ultracoat yellow. But there are 3!

Yellow
Cub Yellow
Dark Yellow

Anyone know?
Red too if you know it.

Ok Todd, I balanced her as per your recommendations, and set up throws and expo as well.

I usually like more expo, but since everyone who did your set up said it was sweet, I am willing to try them. I will update after the weather lets me maiden her....

Where are you going to maiden? I need to remaiden mine and get signed off on my waiver. It would be fun to hook up and fly both.

Maiden day! YAY! "almost anyhow"

So here we go, batteries check, Range check ok, control surfaces all ok, fire her up and here we go.....taxi test to check turn radius, too tight...dial in a little less EPA on nose gear and taxi test again...much better. Don't want her too sensitive on runway. (first time with nose steering gyro and I wasn't sure what to expect) One more taxi and line her up on the center line. Flaps to take off position and BAM! to the ground she goes. Ummmm retract gear switch, not flaps. Nothing seems damaged, just wing tip scrape...

Off we go! Take off flaps felt good. Nice easy cimb out and she was doing well, 3 clicks of right aileron and a few clicks of down is all she needed. WOW, what a great flying jet....I just cant get over how this plane feels in the air. She can turn on a dime, but I don't like that much. I like nice smooth turns. This thing is one hott mamma! Landing was even smoother. I didn't know what to expect with no wind so I came in a little hot. Rather have too much than too little. I read a lot where these have dropped out of the sky from people really slowing them down. I didn't want that to happen today.

Thanks for all the feedback. Couldn't have done it without your guys help.

Oh, by the way, upon further inspection........cracked control horn on Flap, broken hinge on another. WTH! Got her home anyway. Need to order or change out flap horn. Gonna try and contact both Shulman and DreamWorks to see if they have any.

Working on video

I have a Gopro video that I will try and post.

I told you you would love it. Just get some giant scale type horns. They will work fine. I had a hey y'all watch this move with mine awhile back. Hold brakes, power up released brakes. Hit the gear early and BAM. Slide about 30 feet. Broke control horn and dented pride. Easy fix and back in the air. It's my go to plane for just low stress fun.

I've bulit four of them from short kits, two std size ones, and two 125% sized that Limey Bob enlarged for me. See my build thread.
Its too bad that so many guys don't or can't stand to build anymore. It's not a hard plane to construct and is a very honest plane. My big one is in high demand from the local guys wanting to buy it if I ever decide to sell it. Come on guys take the plunge and build one if you want a great sport jet that looks like a real plane from the fifties.

Ok, here is my short video of the maiden. I edited all the high alt pattern flying and trimming of the plane. On the gopro it is a tiny spec! My son was recording with a regular camera on his Ipad and forgot the cover on the lens. As for the puffs of smoke, K80G on Diesel.

And yes, he is only 6 and solo'd at 4yrs old!

http://youtu.be/UM5QTkSl6Qg Watch in 1080!
