Default LMA indoor display and Trade show

The Large Model Association are holding their end of season indoor display and trade show this Sunday just off the M40 at Gaydon in the National Motor Museum (UK). 10.00-4.00 The JMA (Jet Modellers Association) are having a display and there are plenty of traders, I already have two turbines to be collected and a bunch of other orders.
If the weather is "iffy" there is a coffee shop, old cars and plenty of toys to purchase!

Got a bit of a spread from Pete Nye's Lightning, Supermarine 510 and Attacker, Marcus Norman Mig-15, Barjay (very much work in progress) and a Bobcat . . . . . . past to present day jet modelling.

We are in room 3 just through the glass doors next to the loading door around the left hand side. Doors should open just after 8.

Great day today - many thanks to the LMA Ctte, and Tony Hooper in particular for inviting the JMA to display a few of our jets. A few pics follow of the models there...

Bill Marshall's FC Mig 29, Rog Kilbey's Skymaster f-18, Jamie Cuff's BVM Bobcat, his Pete Nye built Lightning, Gerry Jackman Barjay (the one and only original Barjay that was the world's first GT powered model!), Marcus Norman Mig 15 (built by Ron Sweeney) and Supermarine Attacker and 510 - again built by Pete Nye. Thanks Jamie...superb display! John Wright brought along his soooooo impressive 6-engined Arado (he built all 6 engines too...and did that fantastic electronics/avionics install), John Sanders' well impressive Fei-Bao T-33, Geoff White's Ultra Lightning and AW Hunter, Dave Wilshere's gorgeous Vampire, and BVM Electra, a superb glass fuse version of a Ziroli Panther by a very skilled modeller (whose name I have mislaid...can anyone rescue me?) and I took my Foxjet and Fei-Bao Mirage 2000...

Rgds,

Dick

Good day Dick! I enjoy the day as its a chance to meet and chat to fellow modellers without the distraction of flying.

Thanks to Dick for organising our display. It's always good to raise the profile of jet flying.

Gaydon really is a good social event, even the missus likes going . . . . although i think its because she loves the attention 'the Captain' gives her! Cars are unloaded and everything has been stowed away ready for the next outing.

As always Dick did a good job with the organisation of the JMA crew.

Dave

Yes still have a range check to do. My garden is too small for doing the check so will have to do it at the flying field.

I greatly enjoyed the day and it was nice to meet old friends. It is a great venue and with the good commercial stands and great models it was well worth coming to even if I did not have a plane on display.

Hi John,

Unfortunately, I couldn't get a picture of your Arado coz there were people around it all the time! Many thanks for taking the long trek from Colchester and I look fwd to seeing the vid of the Arado on You Tube soon!

Rgds,

Dick
