Thanks for the tips on the Skymaster accessories[sm=teeth_smile.gif] guys
Here is the fuse. Nice mild weathering to highlight the fuse detail. Again all graphics are painted. I am not sure that the white sections are as white as they should be to be true to scale, but I like it non the less.

Here is the details of the right wing. Again I am very impressed with the finish on this jet! The markings are very crisp with no over spray or sloppy edges. Look at how tight the gear door gaps are. Great attention to detail here. The flaps and ailerons are live hinged. This is not the type of live hinge I have seen from other manufacturers where basically the top wing skin is one piece with the control surface and flexes. This seems to have a Hinge built into the layers between the wing skin and control surface. Jim tells me that it is Kevlar. I must say the surfaces work very smooth. The will even fall under their own weight!

Here is the right main gear. The oleo action of all three struts is silky smooth. Wheels have ball bearings and run smooth. There is carbon fiber in the wheel well (upper wing skin) and on the landing gear plywood mounts. Air cylinders look much different from my old Skymaster F-18 kit. They look nice. The landing gear looks beefy here as well. As far as I can see now...the structure looks solid. I will take some additional photos when I pull the gear to add the blind nuts and bolts, paint the wheel well and paint the struts and wheels. Airlines are carefully run through the area. Gear doors work precisely.

Overall I am very excited about this kit. This F-4 looks fantastic. The size is just right. I do not feel it is a small model by any means, yet it it seems like it will be more manageable around the shop and in transport. I am glad I went with the Bran New P120SX for this bird. Well that's it for the F-4 for now. The actual build is a couple months away yet. I need to clear my bench of my current project (how funny...current project...its an EDF) which is my Sapac T-45. That bird is 95% complete. I need that ready for Octurbofest in a couple of weeks. I will be flying that and my E-Flight F-86. Then I need to finish my Trailer Build. With that all done I can start the F-4. The plan is to work on the F-4 prior and after Snowmobile season. I am expecting the Phantom to be a fast build considering the amount of pre-work already done at the factory. I am really looking forward to an enjoyable build!

The hair dryer (Sapac T-45 Composite) is almost complete and all I can think about is this F-4! It is truly a stunning model. Anyway, since there are no instructions with the kit I was wondering about the correct C.G. and control throws for this model.. Skymaster's website has an instruction manual that says it is for both the 1/7.5 and 1/9.5. The control throws may be similar but surely the C.G. cant be the same for both models. I have read how important the C.G. is on the larger F-4 to negate any bad habits with the flaps deployed. In fact my large FeiBao F-4 had a similar trait. If you had 1/2 flap deployed with the gear up, the stab was totally blanked out and there was no elevator control authority! I want to avoid any of this on my new F-4 so if anyone has any real world data on the proper C.G. and control throw, I thank you in advance!

My Mistake!!
That info is actually on the Skymaster website! I just did not notice that this diagram was for the small Phantom. The picture looks identical to the large Phantom..except the measurements of course.
Thanks for posting that Mike.

Well if the weather does not work out for Octurbofest this weekend, My F-4 build will officially start! I am looking forward to this build followed by my Hawk build. As far as I know, Mike is the only one flying this bird. I am looking for pilots to fit the Skymaster cockpit. Anyone who has this bird with pilots can you post some pictures and tell me where you got your pilots?
Thanks!
Thanks!
