Thanks Dom, that would be great.
Jet Hangar have 1/8th scale pilot busts. I have a few and the new process they are using is creating a very nice light pilot.

Dom, could you also post some pics of the inside of the fuselage? Interested in seeing the ducting and how the wing mounts, etc. thx.

I got these from Pete's Pilots - a storefront on Ebay. Ineed to wash and paint and add in the rest of the parts - o2 mask and hands. And build it up just a little on the bottom. I believe these are 1/9th scale.

They're from Great Britain, but ships pretty quickly. Of course, you experience may differ, I'm in the middle of the Pacific.

Do those have legs? What brand and size F-4 are they sitting in? By the way, I did not get started on the F-4 yet. I will this weekend. First order of business will be to build a cradle for it. When I move to actually assembly, I will weigh the jet. It will be an approximate weigh since I will weigh it in sections.

No legs, its from the waist on up, so I will need to build it up a little (maybe .5") to have them sit right. I'm not sure a full body would fit in there, the seats are close to the cockpit floor.

Same F-4 as yours - Extreme Jets done up in VF-84 Jolly Rogers colors. Was looking for VF-111 but they had this one in stock.

Thanks. I thought it looked like mine.
I was asked about the weight of the jet with the Landing Gear but no tanks and pipe. It looks like it is just over 12 pounds. I am trying to post pictures but getting that server error again[:@]

Thank Dom, also if you can include a couple pics of the internal engine area and how the wing mounts. Thanks
Any chance you'll have this (even just the fuse) at Hamburg next weekend for show and tell? I'm aiming to be up there on Friday to fly (can't go on the weekend as I have family duties and headed to Dallas for a week on Sunday).

Here is the jet on the scale.

No I won't be going to the meet. I'll either be flying the Cessna if the weather is good or building. I will get some photos and the measurements for you when I can and post them.

The first order of business was to build a cradle. I made it in such a way that it can be used with or without the top supports. These are removable so you can put the jet in the stand right side up or upside down. It's all made from 3/4" PVC and pipe insulation.

I'm on it Rich. Just had to do some pre-work like the stand, changing to fresh paper on all my sanding blocks and electric sanders. I have found it is better to to this now than have to stop and do it when you have momentum in the middle of a particular construction step. I did get a lot of actual building done yesterday and will report on that later. I'm headed back into the shop now.

My build started off with the landing gear. Here is how it comes from the factory. First step was to remove the gear from the plane in preparation for painting of the gear and wheel wells. I carefully removed the airlines from the gear and door cylinders with a soldering iron. This ensures you will not damage the nipples on the gear or cylinders. The airline was discarded since I chose to use the 8 color ribbon line that Tam sells.

Here is a look inside the wing. I inspected the wing from all angles using a flashlight and all glue joints looked solid as far as the eye can see. The fit of the plywood / carbon fiber rails to the rest of the structure was sound. Note the carbon Fiber in the wheel well / upper wing skin. This entire area along with the gear doors will be painted white.

Here is a look at the gear out of the box. A very nice set indeed. Skymaster has gotten very innovative with their gear and incorporated a number of features that I have not enjoyed with some of the other brands I have flown. We will look at those next.

First is the use of oil / air filled struts. I serviced these with oil and air as per Skymasters instructions / video found on their website. I set the pressure in the struts to 50 psi all the way around. The pressure for the 1/9.5 size F-4 was not listed on the website so I used the pressure indicated for the 1/7 scale phantom. Anton or Mike, is there a specific pressure I should have used?

The next feature is the use of air filled tires. I admit to being a bit leery of these having only used solid tires in the past but i am looking forward to seeing how these work. I set the tire pressure to 60 psi for all tires. Again this was a guess. Anyone who has experience with these and can tell me what a good pressure to use I would appreciate it!

And finally, the feature / design that I will appreciate the most (I had something similar on my Skymaster F-18) is the disk brakes! I have been so frustrated with the leaky, poor performance of the O-Ring style in my other jets. These brakes look really cool and work perfect!

Thanks Dom, very much appreciated and interested to hear the inlet/exit areas and see some internal pics.

I like your pvc stand. If interested I can share a couple pics of one I made that is easily adjustable in height so you can work on the model at a lower level off the bench, leaving your bench clear and easy access to the model from above. It also works well for different models and for assembly at the field.
