Hey,
Congrats to Lewis for putting on a really great meet. Low-stress, high-fun time. It was really nice to meet so many people who I've 'known' for years through RCU, and getting a chance to fly with them. I had a particularly nice time flying with Andy, Ron, Jose and Mr. Wolf. I really enjoyed watching the father/son teams fly like the Klenke's and the Redman's. It made me miss my boys and look forward to having my son on a buddy cord next year. It was really neat seeing some of my long-time flying buds like Buck, too. LOVED seeing (for the first time ever) smoke from the tires of a landing model jet....Andy, that was COOL!! So was your taking the time to help me get the Kingtech 170 situated. I truly enjoyed meeting and talking to your lovely girls, too! You're a lucky man.
Hey, Buck, I was talking to Andy about you 'tutoring' him on his approaches with that Phantom. Do you realize it was 10 years ago that you were giving me the exact same commands over my right shoulder at Miramar with my Ram 1000-powered Starfire? Dude, you've really helped a LOT of people cut their teeth in jets. Thanks again for that.
If you haven't made the trek to Kentucky Jets, I'd say you have to do it! It's a lovely airport with a big, spacious sky for models. The flight-line is very well managed in an efficient, but friendly, manner. The tent-space is also well-managed and having huge awnings instead of individual tents really helped keep the temps down under there (which matters in the summer in Kentucky).
I only got 6 flights in on my F-15, but they were 6 great flights. Lewis and the rest of the pilots were kind enough to suspend normal flight ops so I could maiden her. Four clicks of down elevator trim, and she was money! The rest of the flights were with full armament and she really looked the part...especially against that big, southern sky! Thanks very much to Lewis, the encouraging onlookers and the guys who spotted for me. Thanks, also, to Jose for encouraging me to try a landing with the speed-brake deployed.....it was the best, greasiest landing I ever did with a model airplane!
I'm back to work in San Diego now, but I wish all of you continued success at KJ! Next year, I'm bringing the whole family and staying the whole time!
P.S. If anyone has any photos or video of my F-15, please post.

The Black Cloud got me again with a hospital stay for E. Coli.
Make sure those burgers are well done.
Cheers,
Try again next year.

Wow,
Thanks, Islander, for including my F-15! My flying is such that if the plane comes home without any damage, my wife won't believe I flew it, so thanks for the evidence!

Spent five days at Kentucky Jet and plan to return for the auction Saturday night. Oh by the way, if anyone at the event should find a trash bag in the main hangar with the remains of my F-5e (blue camo scheme), please save it for me. Put it by the large Viper (black, red and white jet) and I will get it Saturday. Thanks!

It was fun, I was only there for two days and didnt have anything to fly yet but thats cool maybe the next one I go to I will be flying. I'm not big on travel for things like this but it was worth the heat to meet some people in person.
As for the A-10 thats what some of the people were saying after the dual flame out. He was having fun with it though

Hi,
Did you get a chance to get any stick-time? Someone had an FEJ Falcon there, and I thought of you.
