We where told at the beginning of all the hype that internal Kero start was not possible due to the size and the excess heat created in the pre chamber whatever that is, whatever if this is true its a good example of bringing a product to market to see if its viable and will sell well enough to do some further development, very annoying.

I don't see that has anything to do with it.

Darren, I did warn you...

Mike who told you this? Ali has been running a kero burner since early days...

I still prefer the gas start option, but there were too many requests for kero start. All my customers are happy with their gas start motors, everyone who bought from the last batch I asked if they were looking to run kero start, they all were happy with gas and I don't see any difference, its not like its 2lb more thrust, or lighter or... Mike were you going to wait another 9 months to enjoy a P-20?

Dw

Of course it does. If you don't have one then you have no reason to be annoyed!

Dave

Who told me what?

I have been running a Kero burner in my P20 since I got it, but it looks like an oil rig with the thing sticking out the top of the casing, I am just annoyed that a turbine that came out within the last year has been updated already.

So your upset because technology has advanced and a company is improving their products? You might want to keep in mind that this is why you are able to own a P-20 in the first place.

Generally, SX engines have faster spool up than previous SE or earlier engines.

Sounds good. That's what it's all about, evolving the products :-)

I quite like the "oil rig" external kero plug on my P-20SE

Gives me something to grab hold of when fitting the turbine

How long is it going to be before the SX is out? Is it worth waiting to get a P20?

Should be in about 6 weeks from now. What ever one you get they are a lovely little toy to play with. Best turbine I ever bought

Is that an earth 6 weeks or a Jetcat 6 weeks? Is the price going to go up for the new version?

I'm upset because Jetcat knew that this was coming but they didn't advertise it. If I had known then I could have made a decision whether to wait or not. I did get a hint from Dave that something might be coming but wasn't told what or when. It is obviously a commercial decision to keep this sort of information under wraps (presumably to keep sales of 'old' P-20s going in the mean time) so I think that people that have just bought an SE are justified in being a little bit annoyed that they have knowingly been sold legacy goods for top dollar[&o].

That said, I love my P-20SE and am happy with my new one but the shine has been taken off of my purchase with this news. I think that Jetcat need to re-think their information strategy to make sure they don't alienate their current customers.
