Colin Gardner was plagued with flameouts early in the event and the model got badly damaged twice. Both these would have normally have scrapped the model but it was repaired both times and managed to win best scale.

Ali, the only other scale jet was a Ducted Fan 1:50th scale A-10 (Which patrick actually flew great). We're a sissy sport jet crew
First, a big thank you to all the sponsors:
Smart-Fly (Bob Ritchie)
JR / Horizon Hobbies (Mark Taylor and Kent Nogy)
E- Power (Ron Abir)
LVRC Club for all the helping hands
Next a BIG THANKS to all the UK guys who spent the time and money to make the trip across the pond (they weren't even paid to come out!). You guys are the most industrious pilots I have ever seen. Two major crashes and repairs, done ON-SITE with sticks, scrap foam, and Bi-Di Tape.
We award "Flight Tickets" to the pilots for every flight they make. The more you fly, the more tickets you get, the more chance to you have winning one of our generous donations. Needless to say, Jason Fletcher walked away with a BIG portion of the prizes, even turning down his prize on three or four occasions.
Also a big thank you to everyone who made the trip to Las Vegas from some other far places, like Alaska Bob and Ryan Haldenwanger from Colorado. And of course the local guys that took the time to come out and join in the fun, thank you all.
See everyone again next year!
Chad

Glad you guys had a lot of fun. You can really tell the seasons have changed by those long shadows in the pics. I'm pretty impressed the UK crowd made such a showing. Hopefully all you guys that did some far reaching treks out to Vegas had some great after hours Vegas style tales and adventures along with the great flying.
What caused the flameouts in the Hawk, you think?

It was traced to a restriction in the centre tank. Colin removed the tank out the line and everything was perfect there on.

It was nice to meet Alan Szabo JR; I knew of him through his piloting skills on You Tube:

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that made the trip to come fly with us here in Vegas. I know the weather was not 100% but we got in a ton of flying anyway... Hope to see everyone next year!

Hi,
A Big thank you for all your hospitality from the Brittish Boys we had a great time. We all made some new freinds and had a ball while in Vegas.
We got home just after lunchtime today and I can feel a good sleep coming on.
Thank you all once again, and to Paul for my clunk filters, theyre just the job. Chad, if you PM your Address I'll Send the chocolate out to you.
Daren.

The yellow smiley fell off my fin shortly after take-off
Thanks to Chad & Co for organising this event.
It was great to finally meet the people behind the RCU handles.
Back at work now, a bit jet-lagged. Enjoying a proper cup o' tea and bacon & bean butty.

I was watching the vid that P.Richards posted... and what happened with that blue and white falcon/Tornado??? It looked like it powered up after it landed, and kind of beat itself to death.

That was my GoldCat with a Wren 44 Gold. I was struggling to slow it down enough - it does not have flaps or brakes.
On the first arrival it tore out the undercarriage block. On the second arrival, I knew the repair would not survive the landing - and it left the leg on the tarmac.
